22.01.2022 We need some help. Our awesome helpers are called volunteers. We don't need people all day every day, 3 hours here, 4 hours there. More if you want. Every bit of help makes a HUGE difference and you know what you feel really good after it. There are so many different things you can do. And YES you really will make a difference.... We need drivers for deliveries and pick ups. Someone to work on the sales desk. People to find those rare items of gold that are donated. Gardening. Run our social media platforms. Cleaners and rubbish removal. Test n taggers. Send us a message or come in for a chat. We really do need you, come on, make a change in someone s life today.

20.01.2022 Racism is a negative force in our world and yet a reality for many as we victimize others and, in turn, ourselves by applying value and respect based on a perso...n's identity which is associated with colour, ethnicity or origins. As the leader of the International Salvation Army serving in 131 countries, I am acquainted with injustice, inequity, gender inequality and a lengthy list of societal challenges that lead to people saying "I can’t breathe." While this statement is linked to the United States, if you listen carefully you can hear it coming from the Rohingya people, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. You can hear it from the victims of COVID-19 where ventilators are not available and breathing is impossible. Life is hardly fair for everyone. As the General of the Salvation Army. I am asking all Salvationists to read again our Positional Statement on Racism. Though given as a guide, I propose to you that the Biblical principles noted are not up for debate. ‘In His Image’ is equally applicable to all humanity. Let me be clear The Salvation Army denounces Racism in all it’s forms. I choose not to be passive on this matter and with adapting the words from my predecessor ‘I will fight (racism) I will fight to the very end (of racism). ' In this Facebook post, I am asking Salvationists to join me in denouncing racism and to commit to reading the linked statement. If repentance is appropriate, then repent. If we can rise up together and be light in the darkness, then rise up! Perpetuating His love is the only option! 18.01.2022 As a baby, God entered into all the darkness of the world - the ugly bits, the pain, the brokenness - and into that darkness the arrival of Jesus comes as a gre...at light to give hope. It shines in the darkness, for through this baby, who will go on to die and rise again, comes the rich hope and wonder of grace, the joy of forgiveness, and the beauty and goodness of love. Hope was born on that day. See more
14.01.2022 Small Gift Big Heart. We are receiving toys and gift in our KMART Wishing Tree Appeal. Just pop into the Warrnambool Kmart store, and look for the Christmas tr...ee. The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal is Australia’s largest and longest running Christmas gift Appeal. This year we celebrate the 33rd year. The idea for the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal began in 1987 when an Adelaide team member suggested Kmart use its wide network of stores as gift collection points to assist the Salvos at Christmas. https://www.kmart.com.au/kmartwishingtree

09.01.2022 We are very happy with how things have been going this first month in our new Garden Project Workshops. It started of relatively quiet, which worked out well, so that we had time to do some planting and rearranging, but we still had about half a dozen visitors, planting and taking home some seedlings. In the weeks thereafter we had between 1 and 3 people each day, which works well in regards to a COVID safe environment. The Lemon Tree donated to us by Avalon Nursery, has now ...been planted in a large pot and we are looking forward to watching it grow. The beans have unfortunately suffered a little bit from the heat, but it looks like they will make it. We now have Silverbeet growing, Lettuces, Coriander, lots of Tomatoes, Celery, Parsnips, Radishes, Rocket and lots more. Feel free to come and have a look or pick some Silverbeet, Rocket or Micro Greens to take home. See more
