20.01.2022 One of the advantages of being a freelance creative? The great variety of work you get to do. These concepts were produced for a Japanese fashion company, many moons ago. I still think they hold up even today.

20.01.2022 Recently I've been getting into scale models and prop-making, and this has been a fantastic space into which I can utilise my 3D modeling skills. Many scale modelers and prop-makers make their wares from raw materials, but in some ways - with 3D printing becoming better and cheaper with each iteration - its quicker to design something in 3D CAD and just print it out. #onshape... #warwickgresswelldesign #warwicksworkshop #anycubic #anycubicphoton #gunpla #gundam #rx782 #3dprinting #dlpprinting #haropla See more

19.01.2022 Some recent poster concepts for Temple Brewery. Was fun to finally combine two loves - beer and design! #templebrewery #okinawa #japanesebeer #shikuwasa #sourbeer #kawaiifruit

19.01.2022 Part of a pitch I did for some work with Specialized Australia a couple of weeks ago. Such a great bunch of people! Sadly I was unsuccessful, but still plenty proud of the designs. #specializedaustralia #warwickgresswelldesign #dirtdemoday #specializedbicycles

18.01.2022 "We are, as it turns out, people who care. We are people who feel and who think. Australia is not a fixed entity, a collection of outdated bigotries and reactionary credos, but rather the invitation to dream, and this country our country belongs to its dreamers." - Richard Flannigan

17.01.2022 I was lambasted last week by one of the illustrious writers of the Handbuilt Bicycle Guide, where I argued that the custom bicycle industry wasn't as innovative as it thought it was (Or those trying to pimp it). On the off chance, I went into a bike shop in Fitzroy this weekend and snapped some photos of a steel Niner hanging on the wall, which was just dripping with more intricately designed features than I thought possible. And all this from a production company.... I think the commonly cited notion that most of the innovation in the bicycle industry comes from the handbuilt/custom sphere is completely erroneous. When I look at the investment cast parts on this Niner - or the amount of design that went into other bikes I saw in that shop like the Santa Cruz Chameleon, the Ibis Ripley, and the Open frames, I honestly believe the custom bike industry is kidding itself. That's not to say there isn't custom bicycle companies investing in design. Moots is incorporating additive manufacturing into their bikes. Bastion Cycles is pretty much only about additive manufacturing. Many companies have their hardpoints custom CNC machined. But do they have a monopoly on this? Do the majors come to the small bike shows to 'liberate' ideas because they're so lacking in design skills that that's the only way they'd have a clue? I don't think so.

16.01.2022 I'll say this again - painting handmade custom bikes to look like cars is so monumentally wrong I don't even know where to begin. Actually scrap that, of course I do: 1. Bikes are not cars. They have their own long history, their own culture. Be part of that or go make cars instead. 2. Bikes are the antithesis or cars. They're the opposite, the antidote. To make them look like a car makes about as much sense as making broccoli look like a steak.... 3. Bikes are not for people that cannot afford supercars. If you're making a bike look like a Maclaren, you're kinda saying "When I grow up, I wanna be a CAR!". 4. Bikes are not the latest accessory for the roofrack of your Range Rover. Please, get matching cufflinks for your Gucci loafers, but keep your bike out of it. 5. You have to ask yourself a few questions - What am I actually doing to create my own story? How am I NOT pandering to a bunch a privileged conformists by continually embracing an image that subverts everything that the bicycle is all about?

10.01.2022 I'm now on Etsy! https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/WarwicksSandFShop When I'm not designing stuff for other people, I'm squirrelling away at the bench making scale models, props and painting miniatures.... In a fit of insanity I've decided to put some on Etsy and see what people think, so please, if you have a spare moment and are into this sort of thing, wander over to Etsy and take a look. Or even better? Buy something!

10.01.2022 Like many of you, I like a good parody, and like all good Australians, I'm not averse to taking the 'mickey' *cough* out of what I do. To that end I've created some parody t-shirt designs and set up a RedBubble shop: https://www.redbubble.com/people/plasticcrackau... It's not all parody in there, but the designs generally reflect what I'm into at any given time and some of the memes, in-jokes, or simply some errant creativity that needs to go somewhere.

05.01.2022 Apologies, but I'm having massive email issues, to the point where my webhost thinks nothing is wrong. In the interim, if you need to get in contact with me, please email me at: gresswelldesign AT gmail DOT com.... Thanks!

03.01.2022 Been a bit quiet recently doing mostly unglamorous corporate stuff. However I have dusted off the 3D skills and am doing some more bike stuff for the illustrious Dave Bohm of Bohemian bicycles. #bohemianbicycles #onshape #warwickgresswelldesign #carbonbitchez #frameschooliscool

03.01.2022 What was I doing 16 years ago? Designing and building electrodeless nickel plated aluminium trials frames, of course!

01.01.2022 After spending a few years honing my painting and weathering techniques, I decided it would be fun to steal my son's PS4 controller and make it look like an old piece of military equipment. Now available on my Etsy store- https://www.etsy.com//69/custom-airbrushed-gaming-console
