22.01.2022 Morning All, With the news of America's election results and the year end approaching things could be looking up for positive change and stability. This news however could devastate an industry already decimated by the pandemic. I'd encourage you all to educate yourselves and advocate to anyone you know who works in or organises events to really promote and engage with safe responsible planning and management. ... This means engaging services that actively push to improve, that actually understand the space they operate in and can implement practical solutions and controls. For too long safety and risk management locally has been more a case of ticking a compliance box and putting on a show and has not been engaged in the creation of safer events and gatherings. Time for a change is now or the industry will continue to suffer. Feel free to pass our details on to anyone who you think could benefit from our services and encourage those you know working in the industry to get passionate about actual improvement!

22.01.2022 dont let this be your event!! a little pre-planning and risk assessment can dramatically reduce the chance of this occurring. If you lack the time or knowledge to do this in-house please find a reputable business to help you and your patrons!

21.01.2022 Learn how to break it and mend it!

20.01.2022 A wonderful remembrance. 20.01.2022 worth checking out if your regularly swim/surf in cold or open water events...it could in the very least give you a legit ego saving excuse for those little blue pills https://www.acc.org///49/swimming-induced-pulmonary-edema

18.01.2022 This shocking video highlights the importance of restraint systems! It also shows the power potential and energy potential in motor vehicle incidents and crashes even if the initial cause is low speed! If you are responsible for or have vehicles in your work place, site or event YOU REALLY NEED to ensure you have adequate and ongoing risk assessment and employ professionals like Response Medical Australia to ensure appropriate response and care can be provided.

18.01.2022 Destressing, decompressing and caring for yourself is an active and valuable tool to assist in managing risk. One of if not the biggest risk factors across all industries, workplaces and hazardous tasks is fatigue and poor decision making. Support yourself, your colleagues and your staff, it starts with self awareness and empowerment! https://www.instagram.com/p/CGpQU11Ai_0/?igshid=2uozbnlyyzk7

18.01.2022 We are actively looking for security officers, crowd controllers, first aiders, RSA and crowd safety and management staff if this is you please email [email protected]

18.01.2022 A good example of the usefulness and importance of having the right equipment on hand. If knowing how to use it is the barrier there is literally a plethora of companies who can teach you and if $$ is the issue then ask your self the value of a persons life... there are some great initiatives available to reduce cost. Alternatively look at engaging a company who can provide trained staff and proper maintained equipment you never know when it could save a life and if you find that time but dont have it well its sometimes too late...

18.01.2022 Are you part of or trying to lead and foster a high performance team? Do you actually allow for this to occur? High performance leadership isnt about being the stand out performer it is about identifying, developing and supporting the whole team to reach its potential and utilise the individuals strengths to achieve a team based high performance outcome. https://hbr.org//high-performing-teams-need-psychological-

14.01.2022 Early recognition is SOOOO important!! If you notice something odd or change get it checked. Here are some quick facts. There are three main types of skin cancer:... -basal cell carcinoma -squamous cell carcinoma -melanoma - the most dangerous form of skin cancer Both basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are known as non-melanoma skin cancer. Approximately, two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70. Non-melanoma skin cancer is more common in men, with almost double the incidence compared to women. Excluding non-melanoma skin cancer,* melanoma is the third most common cancer in Australians. In 2015, 13,694 Australians were diagnosed with melanoma. EVERY YEAR, in AUSTRALIA: -skin cancers account for around 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers, the majority of skin cancers are caused by exposure to the sun -GP's have over 1 million patient consultations per year for skin cancer, this is one the highest incidence rate of skin cancer in the world, two to three times the rates in Canada, the US and the UK. In 2016, 1960 people died from skin cancer in Australia, 1281 from melanoma and 679 from non-melanoma skin cancers. -An estimated 145,000 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in Australia this year, with that number set to rise to 150,000 by 2020. -1 in 2 Australian men and women will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. -Cancer is a leading cause of death in Australia - almost 50,000 deaths from cancer are estimated for 2019. -In 2014, cancer was the second most common cause of death in Australia and accounted for about 3 in 10 deaths.

14.01.2022 You need to be asking why! This is often paired with or followed up with a variation of "never had an issue before". Complacency leads to stagnation and stagnant anything is toxic. It may indeed be the best way but we can only prove this if there is continual evaluation and implementation of best practice and evidence backed data.

14.01.2022 Borrowed from another page. This article shows an interesting perspective and one commonly shared by frontline workers. Ultimately alot of this comes down to honest open communication and a healthy safety culture rather than a multitude of complex safety rules. Does your workplace culture encourage communication and awareness?... https://watersource.awa.asn.au//hard-hats-and-hi-vis-aust/

13.01.2022 This is why we look beyond just the obvious physical security, safety and medical compliance needs. When you engage a provider for any or all of these services ...you should be getting a provider/service that actively helps you assess and monitor risk not just operationally during the event but pre and post event aswell and that considers and encourages you to consider other risk sources like reputational risk, social media risk and capacity/capability risks. Dont just get a contractor engage a business that is a consultant, a service provider, a solutions finder and an engaged partner that wants the best for both you and your end user. See more

07.01.2022 Part of being prepared and ready is knowing your gear and having an everyday carry inventory that enables us to do our jobs. We all know that one person who is carrying way too much but is it just as bad to carry not enough. Either way its worth considering, "is what I am carrying enough?" Does it allow a prompt effective initial response at least? https://tacmedaustralia.com.au//10-things-i-carry-on-shift

04.01.2022 Safety is important but it needs to be done in the right way, with support, education and cultural change.

03.01.2022 If you are into surfing or water sports where you use a leash consider changing to this! Wether you indulge alone or with mates this could be the difference between effective bleeding control or ineffective improvisation that can lead to increased deficit, longer recovery or even death. https://tacmedaustralia.com.au/products/surf

02.01.2022 Workplace Culture is a really important aspect of Safety and Health in the workplace. It is vitally important to positively encourage and consider the dynamics of your workplace culture not just because of the expected physical and operational risks but also to identify and control the risks of mental health, fatigue, stress, bullying and isolation. A happy positive workforce is a productive workforce capable of quality output even in times of high demand or sub-optimal conditions and resourcing.

01.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all! Stay safe and happy
