21.01.2022 We still have some train ride bookings vacant in the afternoon period. Don’t miss your train ride opportunity for October, which is tomorrow! Also don’t forget that daylight savings starts tomorrow too,! Don’t forget to adjust your clocks so you aren’t late for your pre-booked rides!
20.01.2022 27 May 2020 update: Since there have been some easing of social restrictions recently, that unfortunately does not apply to our facilities at Wascoe Siding. We are all anxious to get our trains rolling once again as well as all the people who are anxious to ride them! The positive aspect is that easing restrictions have enabled our members to return to the site and pickup the ongoing maintenance that was put on-hold during the worst of the pandemic. For now, our signals will remain red and we will let you know as soon as we have some good news to announce!
20.01.2022 What would have been if we were running trains today. A few photos from back in December 2019, when it was over 40 and we were all free to go about our daily lives. We can’t wait to start running trains again!
20.01.2022 Don't forget the 6 September 2020 train running day at Wascoe Siding! Bookings for train rides are essential for this day, due to the COVID-19 restrictions. We won't be operating our picnic grounds and canteen as we normally would - only pre-booked train rides are available at set times. See the link below for all the details. Only a limited number of booking slots remain, so don't delay or you might miss out!
19.01.2022 25 July 2020 update: Many of our members spent today testing out a plan for a limited return to operating trains. The main objective is to enable social distancing rules to be followed and the sanitation of each train after a group take a ride. As a result, there will be strict controls for visitors including pre-booked train ride groups of up to 8 people in defined time slots. We have a little bit more work to get everything finalised, but stay tuned to our Facebook site as the time is getting very close for some better news!
19.01.2022 10 July 2020 update: We are considering options to get our trains running in a limited fashion. We are just as eager to provide train rides as are many people eager to ride them! To enable visitors to ride the trains during this stage of the pandemic, we must change the way we operate. Government directives, hygiene standards, social distancing and community expectations must be adhered to. Without the changes, we may not be able to operate at all for a potentially long perio...d of time. Nobody really knows. However, we are devising a plan that would see pre-booked and pre-paid time-slots available to allow limited trains to operate. For now, we are inviting feedback on the proposal by conducting a short survey. An encouraging survey result could possibly see trains running again very soon! In the meantime, we have lots of work to do in fine-tuning and testing any plans amongst our members. We also need to obtain clearance by the relevant authorities to put things into action. The basic plan: *Proposed 15-minute minimum time slots. This includes a ride of approximately 10 minutes, access to and from the gate, to and from the train. *All visitors must book online and pre-pay their chosen time slot/s prior to the day. *Booking options: 1. A 2-car train for up to 8 people. $30 for the time slot (normally $32 for 8 riders) 2. A 4-car train for up to 16 people. $60 for the time slot (normally $64 for 16 riders) *Multiple time slots can be booked if desired. *There will be no picnic areas or canteen available. Visitors will arrive, take their train ride and leave the site via designated access points. *Only pre-booked and pre-paid train riders will be able to access the site. *Personal information including a name and group contact number will be required at time of booking. To let us know what you think, please access the link to the external survey site! It only takes a few seconds to participate! Thanks! (We will leave it open until 17 July 2020) https://freeonlinesurveys.com/s/lg4fTXkN#/2659543

15.01.2022 Thanks to all of the visitors today! It is not quite the same with the COVID-19 restrictions, but only happy faces were seen on the trains today! We will fine-tune things and prepare for November’s train running day in the meantime!
14.01.2022 It’s Sunday 5 April 2020. Since we were unable to open our gates and run trains today, a video clip of a recent running day will help fill the gap. We are not sure when we can start running trains again because of the coronavirus issue, but we look forward to recommencing our train running days as much as everyone else! For now, all those birthday parties and family gatherings will have to be put on-hold. Until the Government declares that facilities like ours can reopen for the public to enjoy, we will periodically post some images and video clips of happier times.

10.01.2022 1 July 2020 update: we are still closed . Even with easing conavirus restrictions, there are still restrictions in place that do not allow us to return to full public operation. We are considering all our options as the Government changes the rules. As soon as we have some good news, you’ll be hearing about it instantly! Until then, the video clip can remind us of what we will look forward to doing once we can have the general public ride our trains again!
10.01.2022 What a year! We have concluded our 2020 season this afternoon and we are happy to say that all went very well today! As we all know, it has been a tough year in just about every respect - we were not left out of the difficulties experienced through the COVID-19 issues. With the sudden ceasing of operations in March, through a period of closure to September where limited operations commenced and still continue to this day. Financially, it has hit us hard like many other simila...r societies. However, with thanks to the train riders and numerous donations, we can see some light at the end of the tunnel! All donations, no matter what the amount, have been gratefully received and have not gone unnoticed. We are not out of the woods yet, but we continue to fine-tune our operation to provide the best train ride experience we can, whilst maintaining the sanitisation and distancing requirements. Hopefully 2021 will see an improvement as we all work out what the new normal will be and look forward to the day where we can operate more like we would like to, with less restrictions. Until next time, we wish you all the best for the Christmas season! (A photo from happier times in 2018 below) See more
