13.01.2022 Artist Roger Reading Painting title: Kimberley Waterfall Oil on mdf board Location the Black Rock falls in the Kimberley near Kununurra Painted in the studio from personal photographs... The painting depicts the waterfall at Black Rock Falls in the wet season in the Kimberley in NW WA. A popular spot for locals and tourists alike it swells to a large and furious cascade of flood waters in the wet season from seasonal torrential rains. It appeals to me because having lived up there for a number of years the change from dry to wet season transform the landscape from a dry arid and friendly environment with warm days and cool night into a semi tropical monsoon and flooded terrain that brings new and different possibilities and hazards. www.rogerreadingart.com
