Curtin-Vic Park Redbacks Cricket Club got one over Murdoch University Melville Cricket Club thanks to some superb batting by the hosts. A real upset victory!... Fremantle Mosman Park Cricket Club were led by Arman Abdullah who top scored and took 4 wickets in an all round performance against North Perth Cricket Club. Current holders Bassendean Cricket Club won with a final ball runout against Applecross Cricket Club in one of the most exciting games of the round. A real nail-biter!! Balcatta Cricket Club are the only 1st Grade side to make it to the Semi Finals as they overcame a spirited fight by Bedford Morley Cricket Club. Keep an eye on the WASTCA social media pages for the Semi Final draw! Sponsored by Kookaburra Cricket

22.01.2022 WASTCA 2nd GRADE - ROUND 2 RESULTS Another superb weekend of cricket in 2nd Grade this weekend as we start to see 2nd Grade take shape. Applecross Cricket Club continued their strong start to the season beating Nollamara Turf AusInd Cricket Club by 81 runs as they moved to the top of 2nd Grade.... Ocean Ridge Cricket Club got up against Kalamunda Cricket Club Inc by just 6 runs consigning Kalamunda to a second successive defeat since returning to 2nd Grade. South Perth Cricket Club beat Swanbourne Cricket in a tight one to take them to 2 from 2 and into the Top 4. North Beach Carine Cricket Club had a big win against a struggling North Perth Cricket Club, proving that they may be a force to be reckoned with this season. Curtin-Vic Park Redbacks Cricket Club had a thumping win against Whitfords Cricket Club bouncing back well after their opening round defeat. Fremantle Mosman Park Cricket Club also went 2 from 2 with a clinical display against Bassendean Cricket Club. A great round of cricket with more to come this weekend. Are we already seeing the top contenders for promotion pull away from the chasing pack? Round sponsored by Healthway Graphics by KlubPro Pty Ltd

22.01.2022 WASTCA 1st Grade - Round 4 With rain affecting last weeks fixtures, this weekend will certainly be one to watch Surprise leaders Swan Valley take on Wembley Districts in a 1st vs 2nd match up that really whets the appetite. Will Wembley continue their strong form or will Swan Valley continue to surprise us all... Western Suburbs finally got off the mark last round and have a tricky fixture against Swan Athletic Caversham who will be hoping to get their first win of the season Murdoch Uni Melville have struggled so far this season but will hope they can pull off an upset about Subiaco Marist this Round in what will be an interesting matchup Bedford Morley and High Wycombe both are yet to register a win this year and will be hoping to edge their way up the ladder this round. Finally, Bentley and Balcatta face off with last years Premiers struggling so far this season. Can Balcatta put another nail in the coffin and strengthen push for a flag A superb round of cricket ahead based on the last few weeks. Make sure you get down to support your local club this weekend as Perth's Premier Community Cricket Competition continues! Round sponsored by Kookaburra
21.01.2022 BeltUp CricketWest Cup Semi Final Curtin-Vic Park Redbacks Cricket Club put up a valiant fight against a strong Phoenix Cricket Club but couldn't quite replicate their sizzling form from the WASTCA T20 Div 1 Final Another great innings from Alenchery wasn't enough as CVP struggled to post a large enough total to worry the Phoenix side who have Back to thank for his match winning innings!... A great showing from the WASTCA representative side but not to be this year!
21.01.2022 It is with much sadness for us to inform the cricketing community that Cec Coultas passed away yesterday morning, 30th November 2020. Cec dedicated his life to ...the game and its development in Bedford for 50 years. His involvement started with the cricket section of the Bedford Districts Youth Club (which became incorporated as Bedford Junior Cricket Club in 2008), in which he was Treasurer from 1972 to 2007 and club statistician until 2011. For The Knights, Cec had been a part of Bedford Cricket Club pre-amalgamation in several roles, becoming a life member in the 1983/84 season and continuing with the club through amalgamation with Morley Cricket Club. Throughout the many years, Cec would record statistics and be at nearly every Saturday fixture at RA Cook Reserve, supporting his club. Cec also had an incredible coaching record. He coached junior cricket for 24 years, winning 280 out of the 310 games he coached. Along with this, won all 24 of his grand final appearances. Something unheard of in modern times. Over the last couple of years, Cec overcame many personal struggles to make it to the club when he can and was always welcomed and loved by the players, members and their families. Cec was also appointed a life member of Bedford Junior Cricket Club and the West Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association. Many of the players currently playing for Bedford Morley have been involved with Cec through one way or another. Whether he coached us in juniors, joined us on our cricketing trips to Singapore, sat down with us on a Saturday afternoon watching the First XI and everything else in between. We definitely will miss his presence. Our thoughts are with the Coultas family. Details of his farewell will be announced in due course. There will be no better servant to the game than Cec. Rest in Peace.

20.01.2022 Some good news coming out of Swan Valley Cricket Club who had their application for the Cricket Australia Infrastructure Grant approved! Make sure your club takes advantage of these kinds of grants that are available to ensure the best possible facilities for all clubs in WASTCA!
19.01.2022 WASTCA 1st Grade - Round 5 The 1st Grade ladder is starting to take shape as we fast approach the Xmas break in Perths Premier Community Cricket Competition. Another great round of fixtures ahead!! First up we see Balcatta take on the winless Bedford Morley who will be looking to improve on recent results and get some points on the board. Balcatta sit just within the Top 4 at this stage of the season and will be hoping to get a good result that gives them some breathing room.... Murdoch Uni Melville have struggled so far this season but have a very winnable game coming up this week against a Swan Athletic Caversham side who have struggled with the ball this year but shone with the bat. Expect both sides to post big scores this round as a win here would be huge for either team. Bentley take on Subi Marist in most top of the table clash of the round. Subi currently sit 2nd but are just 4 points ahead of 5th placed Bentley. A win for this Bentley side would push them right into the thick of the finals race but a loss could see them fall into the chasing pack. Subi have so far conceded the most runs of any side in 1st Grade this season so a tight performance with the ball would surely see them take home the points this round. High Wycombe take on the high flying and unbeaten Swan Valley in what is probably the one to watch this round. Swan Valley have been unstoppable so far this year and High Wycombe look to be struggled to reach the heights of last season. Can they step up their game this week or will Swan Valley make it 5 from 5! Finally, Wembley Districts take on Western Suburbs in a Western derby. Suburbs have been putting in some good displays over the last few weeks but will need to be at their absolute best to take points from the ever-strong Wembley Districts. The inclusion of 1st Grade top run scorer Johnston will surely be enough to see Wembley take home the points and move up the ladder. What a round of fixtures we have ahead of us! Follow along on MyCricket and keep an eye on social media for updates from Perths Premier Community Cricket Competition! Round Sponsored by Kookaburra
19.01.2022 At WASTCA as we celebrate NAIDOC week and reconciliation round to further pay our respects to the traditional custodians of our land and stamp out racism I was invited by the South Perth Cricket Club to attend the bare foot circle prior to the commencement of the 2nd grade match between South Perth CC and Bassendean CC. Thanks to the South Perth CC, captain Jacob Sands and indigenous player Nick Taylor who spoke extremely well on paying their respects to elders past and pres...ent and acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land and ground we play on including a continued focus on stamping out racism in our game. I would also like to acknowledge the mutual and proactive participation by Bassendean Cricket Club including coach Ben O’Brien and Captain Adam Pesce and the players for joining and paying their respects along with Umpires David Reardon and Liam Bray. 18.01.2022 WASTCA 2ND GRADE Round 7 Results We welcomed back cricket after the Xmas break and were given a round of cracking cricket in Perths Premier Community Cricket Competition!... First up, Nollamara Turf AusInd Cricket Club moved further from the foot of the ladder with a strong performance against Curtin-Vic Park Redbacks Cricket Club who let a great chance to push for the Top 4 slip away. Fremantle Mosman Park Cricket Club made it 7 from 7 with a comfortable victory against Whitfords Cricket Club and continue to show that they are the team to beat this year. Applecross Cricket Club had a big win against North Beach Carine Cricket Club that puts a bit of breathing space between the Top 4 and the chasing pack. North Perth Cricket Club slipped to the bottom of 2nd Grade with a disappointing performance against Swanbourne Cricket who continue their good form. South Perth Cricket Club had the closest win for the round, defeating a fighting Ocean Ridge Cricket Club by just 4 runs, a victory which keeps the home side in 2nd place. Finally, Bassendean Cricket Club defeated Kalamunda Cricket Club Inc making it a win either side of Xmas and moving them to 6th in the ladder whilst Kalamunda drop to 11th. A great return to cricket with a big round ahead that could determine the course of the season! Brought to you by Kookaburra Cricket AUS and NZ

17.01.2022 WASTCA - 2nd Grade - Round 3 Results A rain affected round saw just half of the matches get a final result in Round 3 of 2nd Grade Swanbourne ensured that the recently relegated Kalamunda remain winless with a strong bowling performance ... North Perth got a great win against early front-runners Applecross, restricting them to a low score and then piling on the runs in the 2nd week. A huge victory for NPCC Fremantle Mosman Park moved to top of 2nd Grade with a clinical display as Nollamara that will possibly make them the team to beat this year. All other games were unfortunately affected by the weather over the weekend and ended in Draws. With better weather ahead this coming weekend, we look forward to another great round of cricket in WA's Premier Community Cricket Competition! Sponsored by Kookaburra
16.01.2022 A monumental achievement from Bentley Cricket Club legend Lloyd Dungey, just the second person to play 600 WASTCA matches. Congratulations Lloyd

14.01.2022 WASTCA 2nd Grade - Round 4 Things are starting to get interesting in 2nd Grade as we move in to Round 4 and another bout of 2 Day games. First up we have Bassendean taking on North Beach Carine. The away sides batting is yet to be tested this year and they sit pretty inside the 4. Can Bassendean get the win?... North Perth will be riding high after their big win last week and they take on Kalamunda who have struggled since relegation from 1st Grade. Can Kalamunda pull a win out of the bag or will North Perth continue their ascent up the ladder Swanbourne take on Ocean Ridge with both sides needing a result to really make their mark on the season. Which coastal club will take the spoils this round Whitfords take on Nollamara AusInd in what should be a great game. Nollamara have shown good intent so far this season but can Whitfords continue their strong start to the year with the bat. Fremantle Mosman Park take on South Perth with both teams starting the season strongly and looking like genuine promotion chances. Which side will take the spoils this round and open up a gap from the chasing pack Finally, Applecross take on Curtin Vic Park. The hosts have scored the most runs in 2nd Grade and conceded the 2nd fewest runs this season but will have to take on an Applecross side looking to bounce back this weekend. Another ripping round of fixtures for Perth's Premier Community Cricket Competition! Get down to support your local club this weekend! Round sponsored by Kookburra
12.01.2022 WASTCA 1st Grade Round 3 Progress Scores A huge first weekend of our Two Day competition in Perth's Premier Community Cricket Association. ... 09.01.2022 WASTCA 1st GRADE - ROUND 2 RESULTS 1st Grade Perth's Premier Community Cricket Competition continued last weekend and we had some crazy results in a few brilliant games! Bentley Cricket Club and High Wycombe Cricket Club played out the 1st Tied Match in 1st Grade for some time. A wicket with the final ball of the innings secured the tie for High Wycombe who bowled superbly at the end of the innings to keep themselves in the game.... Swan Valley Cricket Club have skipper Phil Adams to thank for their victory against Subiaco Marist Cricket Club as he plundered 115 from just 89 balls taking them to 2 from 2 this year. A marked improvement after struggling for results last season. Western Suburbs Cricket Club took out the win against Bedford Morley Cricket Club as both promoted sides faced off. Bedford Morley looked on track before a batting collapse where Suburbs took 9/45 to win the game. Wembley Districts Cricket Club made the statement of the round as they destroyed Murdoch University Melville Cricket Club who at one point fell to 6/8. Some dogged lower order batting ensured that it wasn't the most embarrassing of defeats but MUMCC will now have a lot of work to do before their next game. Finally Balcatta Cricket Club won a tight one against Swan Athletic Caversham Cricket Club in a low scoring affair with the ball dominating the days play. 1st Grade remains tight with just 3 sides having perfect records so far and two of last year's finalists, including the Premiers, yet to register a win. Round 3 will be the start of 2 Day Cricket for the season and wins will be so important to make sure teams don't get left with a mountain to climb later in the season! 07.01.2022 WASTCA - Player of the Round - Round 1 I had the opportunity this week to finally catchup with our weekly award winner of the Intersport Armando Sports O'Connor $100.00 sports voucher, All-rounder Matt Johnston who is in his second season with Wembley Districts Cricket Club Matt’s performance in the round 1 fixture was outstanding smashing 142 from 114 balls, including 10 sixes and 4 boundaries against High Wycombe caused some local cricket followers to claim it was the most... impressive century made at the ground in many years. Matt attributes his fantastic early season form to being comfortable around his long term mates at Wembley, the great facilities provided, flexibility with training and requirements to playing on Saturday and the club having a real family friendly environment which is inviting to the partners and young ones to be around and involved, including his young son. Matt says the transition from premiere cricket to suburban turf cricket was a relatively easy decision with life style and flexibility the key and is also surprised but not shocked at the competitiveness of the competition and the quality of the wickets and grounds which are on a par with most WACA clubs. Thanks Matt for taking time out of a busy schedule to catch up for a coffee and share thoughts on your club and our association and once again a sincere thanks to Armando from Armando Sports with stores in Willeton and O'Connor for the weekly $100.00 sports voucher. Enjoy the weekend ahead Brad WASTCA Chairman

01.01.2022 A valiant effort from Curtin-Vic Park Redbacks Cricket Club but not quite enough today against a strong Phoenix Cricket Club! Congratulations to CVPCC on getting to this stage of the competition and putting in some great performances along the way!
01.01.2022 WASTCA 2nd Grade - Round 5 Fixtures The penultimate round prior to the Christmas break for 2nd Grade in Perths Premier Community Cricket Competition and some juicy fixtures await! First up we have Kalamunda Cricket Club Inc taking on Curtin-Vic Park Redbacks Cricket Club with both teams sitting on one win from their first 4 games. Kalamunda finally got points on the board with a tight victory against North Perth and so will look to kick on against a CVP side who were soundly ...beaten by Applecross last weekend. Bassendean Cricket Club and Swanbourne Cricket Club both sit just outside the top 4 and will both be looking for a victory to push themselves up the ladder this weekend. A win from Swanbourne would put a bit of a gap between the current Top 4 and the chasing pack! North Beach Carine Cricket Club had a great win last weekend and take on the unbeaten Fremantle Mosman Park Cricket Club in a game which will most likely determine which sides reaches the Xmas break on top of the 2nd Grade ladder. Both sides have been in great form with bat and ball and this looks like it'll be a great matchup. Whitfords Cricket Club take on North Perth Cricket Club with both sides putting in great performances over the last few rounds but not getting the results they've been looking for. Which side will come out on top and hope to shoot up the ladder this round. Ocean Ridge Cricket Club have a tough gig as they host an inform Applecross Cricket Club side who come off the back of a big win last round. Ocean Ridge have so far conceded more runs than any other side this year so will need to tighten it up if they're going to tame the in form Applecross batting lineup. Nollamara Turf AusInd Cricket Club will look to build on their first victory as they take on a hot and cold South Perth Cricket Club this round. With just 11 points between Nollamara on the bottom and South Perth in the Top 4, the table could easily be turned upside down if the hosts get a win and South Perth will be hoping a strong performance solidifies their spot in the Finals spots. A great round of cricket ahead with some fixtures well worth keeping an eye on over the next few week! Round sponsored by Kookaburra Cricket
