25.01.2022 Students from Bourke Primary School bought the "Topsville Stud" to life. They had lots of fun using timber, cotton and old wire to create their sheep.



22.01.2022 This amazing plastic garden was created by students from Middleton Public School in Parkes. If you look closely you will be amazed at the things they have used, just brilliant!

21.01.2022 2010: Artist: Elsie Mann from Parkes Artwork Title: "Milkmaid Foot Stool" An old separator bowl turned upside down makes the body of this stool, with 3 rusty bathtub legs for the feet. A trip to Vinnies turned up a great selection of old neckties which I used for the cushion. The spider on top is made of old beads and is completely harmless!

20.01.2022 This really lovely piece was created by Margie Pye from Coonamble. "Floating Reflections" was made from discarded cans, left over tie-wire, glass beads, scrap steel rod, an old plough disc and a circular from a 1970s hammock chair.



20.01.2022 Category: Secondary 2D & Artist: Lucy Hammond from Warren made "Vintage Collage" which is a collage made from old coloured tiles. Category: Community 2D & Artist: C McAdam from Lithgow created "Snake Life" using sticks, bones, peach stones, seed pods, buttons, old lego, plastic bottle lids, plastic yoghurt tub lids, metal bottle caps, corks, vintage brocade, foil, felted wool, brass door handles, red yarn, screen window & left over window pain. How fabulous, can you find all of these things?

18.01.2022 2015 Regional Exhibition host5ed by Bathurst Council at the Flannery Centre. One of my all time favourites by artists Helen Standen & Elsie Mahon from Parkes: "Branching Out" was made using cut up recycled trench mesh, discarded rusty sheet metal & a collection of round objects found on several farm & shed scavenger hunts. 14.01.2022 2010 - Katoomba High School Art Group created ''Video Takes Flight". The used video tape as the base material for this sculpture and students created a series of animals using recycled, collected and found materials. These works were designed to hang together as a flock taking flight across a wall.



14.01.2022 2010 Artist: Sharon Huxley from Bullaburra Artwork: "Digital Carousel". Made from packaging from a plasma TV screen TV, old discs & cabling.

13.01.2022 2008 - Angela Bambach from Molong wanted to create something attractive from rubbish, much of which couldn't be recycled. She used a damaged door, material from a worn out shirt and boxer shorts, shattered windscreen glass, tin cans, a CD, an old earring, a book and packaging material. Open 2D category.

13.01.2022 2008 - Artist: Matthew Player from Blue Mountains. This is my family and my dog Mya. i painted this with old food colouring from the cupboard and blew the colours with a straw. it was cool and we saved lots of bits of rubbish that I made into people. My family looks funny!. Category : Primary 2D.

12.01.2022 Its 2013 and we are in Bourke for the Regional Waste to art Exhibition. Great year and thanks to the Back of Bourke Centre for welcoming us in to set up the exhibition. Lillian Searle from Perthville created "Tim the Tin Man" and he was entered into the Primary 3D category.

12.01.2022 2009 - Oliver Andronicus from Mudgee built this fabulous "Çoke Can Car' using aluminium cans and other bits & pieces. Category: Primary Craftworks. Another entrant from Mudgee was Wayne Carroll who created ''WWW.World Wide Web'' . It represents larger than life creations of one of nature's most studied creatures. It uses rejected LPG gas bottles, used mining mill balls & various lengths of scrap steel. category: Open 3D

06.01.2022 Alastair Marshall from Burren Junction entered his 'Emu" into the Open 3D Category for the 2015 Regional Exhibition. This work is made from old pieces of machinery and scrap metal found on the farm.

05.01.2022 2008 - Artist Margie Pye from Coonamble. "Spinning Daisies" was made from old alternator fans and "The Calga Gymea Lily" was created using rod, pipe and old mechanical parts. The piece evolved into a totally new botanical specimen quiet like no other!

04.01.2022 Lyn Hodge from Nyngan created this majestic "King Lion". He has been made from waste newspaper, cardboard & acrylic paint. He starred in a local production of the Lion King and also in a show in Cobar.

03.01.2022 From 2010 when the Exhibition was held in Menindee NSW. Artist: Craig Laurendet from Medlow Bath. Artwork: "Professor Peabody's Curious Contrivance" . This mechanical Arm is part of a costume, part kinetic sculpture & is a fully functional extension of a human arm. It is composed of 99% recycled material & almost entirely of objects found in council clean up: including old phone dials, printer/fax parts, timber scraps, bike parts and old tools.

03.01.2022 2010 - This beautiful work was created by artist Keith Cavanagh from Wentworth Falls. " A Field Sweep" was made using recycled steel: being industrial tillage equipment and hedging shears. Category: Open 3D

02.01.2022 Category: Secondary Functional Artist: Isabelle Scott from Dubbo. "Chardonnay Chandelier" is made using recycled wine barrel hoops. This is one of 3 furnishings that Isabelle made for her year 12 Major Design project in Design and Technology. I understand that it is hanging in a local winery, love it!

02.01.2022 Reace Vavasour from Wisemans Creek built this brilliant "Junk Box''. This piece is veruy specvial as Reace won the Herb Clarke Memorial Trophy at the Bourke Regional Exhibition. Reace said:''When the world's materials become scarce I will still want to listen to music. My friends and I will still want to dance & sing. This Junk Box means we can still do that no matter what the future holds. There will always be time for Music! Thank you Reace.

Here is our wonderful curator Colin Jones and his sidekick William setting up a very creative artwork from Simon Cant from Warren. "Wash day Blues" was made from ducting found at the local tip. It was entered into Community 3D

01.01.2022 Dana Oldfield from Kandos shared her beautiful "Tea for One" with us as part of the Bourke Regional Exhibition in the Secondary 2D category. Tea for One deals with the concept of the healing tea. Book pages, pearls and an old record allow the idea of the tea being for conversation, memory, & taking time out.
