23.01.2022 Well...hi all. This will be a final post I guess for the café that never was. After 19mths battling an odd real estate agent we were encouraged to exit by the Tenants Union and a VCAT judge. The landlord stayed out of it, most probably only getting bits and pieces from the agent, and we were left chuckle away as the agent shot himself in the foot repeatedly at multiple VCAT hearings. But of course for all the vindication that brings we are still left without the little commun...ity space we hoped to open. 19mths on and the shopfront still has no power. Fingers crossed noone else ends up stuck with this place before the landlords find a competent agent. If someone does I hope they can bring some life to the area and I hope we can all get behind them. For now I'm concentrating on my daughter but next up we'll be turning to making a space over summer in our suburban yard to get local acts playing gigs and earning themselvss a few dollars. And we still have LOADS of random stuff to get rid of on Gumtree/Etsy/garage sales. Look out for a new thing called Artemis & the Lemon Tree musicwise. And Artemis & the Tinker will be the name of our new etsy shop. Much love to all the people who tried and I'll do my best to make up for never getting a Reynard St local up and running... Exact time to follow but we'll be here all afternoon. Maybe we'll see about putting on a movie, lets say Jim Jarmusch's classic Down By Law. 01.01.2022 So it seems evil is catching and we've been rolled by our second Estate Agent in 18mths. We're gonna keep looking. We love this area and this area needs a freakin' café (/bar/venue/lounge). While we're stuck with our inadequacies let's make what we can of it. Working on a few gigs in the next month.
