20.01.2022 Some tips from Face Your Waste: Who knows what those vents are for on your fridge’s crisper drawers? These drawers are actually an important tool in reducing food waste if you know how to use them! Here are a few handy tips: A good idea is to have one drawer high humidity (closed vent), and one drawer low humidity (open vent). As a general rule, use the high humidity drawer for items that wilt like leafy vegetables or asparagus.... Almost all fruits, and vegetables that rot, are usually best in the low humidity drawer. They work well when about 2/3 full so don’t overfill. If you want to know more about separating your fruit and veg and the impact of ethylene gas (produced by ripening fruit and veg), take a look at this great article See more

14.01.2022 My name is Jade. I work at the Mundaring store. I have been here so long I cant remember when I first started! Haha, but it was when the store first opened. Fun facts: I dabble in cooking vegan and gluten free alternatives, am currently studying a health science, naturopathy degree, have two kids, love swing dancing and sewing. Picking a favourite product is like choosing a favourite child! But I do love the vegan chocolate. Perfect for when youre craving a little chocolate... hit. One or two squares is all you need to hit the spot. My other favourite product in the store is an oldie but still one of the best and easiest products to start your waste free journey. The Onya produce bags. I love them and use them all. the. time!! Eliminate soooo much plastic from your life with one simple product. I have a pile of them in my shopping bag hanging at the back door, ready to go at any time. They get used, unpacked and back in the bag ready for next time, or if they are looking a bit grubby, I just put them through the washing machine! Tips to be waste free? Start with your bin, what is contributing to your rubbish? Is there an alternative that can reduce the amount going in there? Find one thing you can change, then move onto the next thing. And not just your rubbish bin, look at your recycling too, you may find there are other alternatives to reduce the amount that goes in here too. And that is probably where my tip comes in. Find a group, online or in the community, or talk to friends, there are waste free/plastic free/alternative groups that have a wealth of knowledge. I love learning from our community and picking up tips from these groups. It can sometimes be hard to change our habits, but we can all learn from, and help each other. See more

Use the clothesline for solar and wind-powered drying These tips will help you save money, get more wear out of your clothes, reduce your carbon footprint and reduce micro-plastics in our oceans - winning!

13.01.2022 Hi, my name is Tessa and I have been at Wasteless Pantry Mundaring for about 3 years now. It is such a wonderful workplace; I am very lucky to be there and to work with such amazing people. I guess you could say Im the resident horsey girl here at WPM. If Im not at work, Im either riding or taking pictures for our Instagram. I also love to get out camping and spending time exploring our amazing country. My favourite WP product probably has to be the reusable straws as I al...ways have one in my bag but since they came in, I really like the hair ties too because they work so well in my thick hair. My favourite food is the veggie chips, they are my go-to when Im feeling a bit hungry and need a snack. My waste-free tip is probably not to be too hard on yourself for not being 100% waste-free. It can be quite overwhelming so making small changes one at a time is fine! See how other people do things and learn what works best for you. Keep chipping away at it and you will be surprised how much you learn

This container holds approximately 50 blades which could take months to fill up! It's small enough to fit into a drawer or to keep on your countertop. Since it's all-metal, you can recycle the entire container once filled, or better yet, open at the bottom to empty the blades into a larger metal container that you can recycle responsibly and reuse the bank again. The Parker blade bank is a must-have addition to your plastic-free shave routine."
