19.01.2022 Once upon a time things were made to last. This fridge was traded for a case of KB Lager in 1973 when our customer Tony emigrated from England & his neighbour (having one out the back to offload) said... ya gotta have a beer fridge mate! Built in 1958, this fridge was STILL GOING IN 2017 after 60 YEARS OF SERVICE but finally, when it kept tripping the fuse box & no electrician could fix it, our customer, sadly, bid it farewell.... The old trojan is now on its way to China to be melted down (apart from the wooden frame which will burn!) and returned to Australia as shiny new fridges which will be lucky to last even 6 years. We really do now live in a throwaway society. This little fridge history shows just how far weve come & how things have changed... your fridge at home may be shiny & new but quality is simply getting harder to come by. If our business and political leaders were serious about climate change, theyd impose strict quality and performance controls on manufacturers and their goods ensuring we get a fair and valuable usage out of our resources. Buy Carefully & take care of your stuff as best you can. Edward John Lees Hallstrom became rich from his fridge and later donated large amounts of his time & money to Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney. He was later Knighted Sir Hallstrom.

19.01.2022 This much loved caravan is probably on its way to China now, squashed into a cube & being readied to come back as a fridge, or forks, or a car door, or teapot, or ..... recycling is a great thing, we all must do it whenever we can.
