We pioneered our Mini truck because we had a desire to simply clean up Melbourne streetscapes and alleviate the stress to... tenants of moving bins to designated kerbside areas for collection .... 9 years on and our Mini truck fleet commands the roads in this niche industry space. With Covid-19 you brought a level of disruption that challenged the business world to think outside the square ... and at Waste Wise that’s exactly what we did! : Waste Wise are very proud of the way our staff, customers and industry partners worked together through this challenging year to deliver ...what we now consider one of the most critical 12 months in our business. The global crisis demanded leadership and at Waste Wise there was nobody better equipped for this role than our Managing Director Frank Cardamone. With Frank in the drivers seat our company got back to basics ensuring the spotlight was well and truly focused on the most important part of our business - The Customer Experience : With a clear vision to deliver a more consistent experience for our loyal customers we restructured our departments, enhanced our systems and introduced a number of new key members to our team. We rolled out a brand new contracting system with more flexibility around terms and reviewed our services to compete with the evolving marketplace to meet customer demand. Through careful planning we increased our fleet to over 50 trucks on the road including 40 of our signature Mini Rear Loaders. 07.01.2022 Flashback Friday .... Let’s head back to 2008 when a much younger MD Frank Cardamone was hitting the road at 3am while wearing every hat in the company .... Pictured here with his nephews Dean and James who were excited to meet Big Red the biggest member of the Waste Wise fleet .... Big Red was Franks very first vehicle acquisition and he proudly wore the original Waste Wise red brand across Melbourne’s roads. 10 years later and young Jimmy, pictured here with... the cheeky smile, would go on to join the Waste Wise team working part time after school as a bin cleaner and later joining the 3am club as a drivers jockey during his gap year! : Whether its our clients, staff or our proud industry partners Waste Wise will always be a traditional family affair. We are very proud of our history, starting in 2008 with a big vision, a lot of courage and those 3am starts with Big Red however, our focus will always remain firmly on the road ahead ...... 06.01.2022 COMMINGLED WASTE RECYCLING As a guide there are 4 main types of items that are accepted for Commingled Waste Recycling: * Glass * Hard Plastic... * Paper and Cardboard * Cans But .... do you know what actually happens to your Commingled Waste? Your Commingled Waste is collected and taken to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) for processing and the different materials are sorted according to categories. Once sorted and baled (squashed into cubes) the materials are sent to a reprocessing factory to be made into new products which can then be purchased helping to ‘Close the Loop’ and create what’s called a Circular Economy Waste Wise Environmental are partnered with VISY recycling to handle all your Commingled Waste Recycling.
