25.01.2022 Happy last day of 2020

25.01.2022 Funny but true

25.01.2022 Shoe searching ... what a favourite!

24.01.2022 Try something new at the November WEC day.... A Prix Caprilli test Named after the great Italian rider who was the father of the modern forward seat for jumping, is a dressage test with jumps included. What is it...????... The tests have the same movements as a preliminary/novice dressage test and include the requirement for horse and rider to trot and/or canter over single jumps. The judges will judge this test the same as a normal dressage test that includes technical marks for the movement, impulsion, submission and riding. The emphasis is not the jumping style of the horse, it is on the horse’s relaxation, obedience and evenness of pace. It is a dressage test that happens to have jumps in the way and the jumps should not disrupt the standard performance expected in a dressage test. It is worth thinking about the riding style you will adopt over the jumps as you will need to establish a position over the jumps that assists the horse in freely jumping over the jump without any resistance. Practice at home in your own dressage arena before the day. It’s something different to the normal dressage test and a bit of fun. Why not have a go! https://www.dressagensw.equestrian.org.au//DNSW_Prix_Capri

17.01.2022 ***ATTENTION RIDERS FOR TOMORROW*** EVENT CANCELLED Due to the heavy rains in the week leading up to our Sunday 19 July event the committee have inspected the grounds today and decided they are unfortunately unsafe to hold our training day tomorrow. ... However we are looking into the possibility of postponing the event in its entirety so we will be letting you know if the grounds, judges and committee are available on another date within the next four weeks. This decision will be made in the next 7 days and if we are able to postpone we will be contacting everyone to confirm their attendance on the new date. Those that are unable to attend on the new date will receive a full refund from Nominate. If we cannot confirm a new date in the next four weeks you will all receive a full refund from Nominate for this event and our committee will begin planning for our September event. The committee are sorry for the inconvenience as we were all looking forward to get back out there. But safety comes first. The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will still be held at the Cooranbong grounds tomorrow at midday. All club members are very welcome to attend.

13.01.2022 Have you got horses that have real life struggles?! We know we do!!!

12.01.2022 You’ve Got a Friend? Or one you can borrow (with a horse) for November WEC day? Training and showing with a friend completely changes the competitive experience. Why not give the Pas de deux a go and have a good time and come out of the arena smiling. What is it?... Pas de deux (a musical dressage ride done with a pair of horses and riders) is the most fun to be had at a dressage day; adding music for a freestyle makes it super fun; and riding to tunes with your friend is the best thing going down the center line. Creating the Pas de Deux The creative collaboration and preparing the ride is a treat. Here’s your chance to show off what you and your horses do well as a pair. Pattern design is a great artistic challenge, and it is always fun to see what your horses think of the track you have drawn for them. Be flexible as you choreograph, and make it fun and easy for your horse. Many crowd and judge-pleasing movements and figures are easy to ride. Before you get started, though, it’s a good idea to read the fine print. Read the test rules carefully, noting both what’s required and what’s forbidden at the level you will be showing. https://www.nsw.equestrian.org.au//2005_Pas%20De%20Deux%20 Music or pattern first? Some teams start with the music and script the ride to match it; others set the music to the pattern. Make Some Magic With a good pattern, willing horses, synchronized riders, music, and some extra training days with polishing, you can create a tremendous performance that is not only a ball to ride but will delight the judge and inspire spectators. So start getting ready! There is so much to learn, so much creativity to explore, and double the fun than you and your horse will ever have going it alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYdga76WQBI

10.01.2022 Yeah that’s pretty true

09.01.2022 Next weekend - we are looking for volunteers to help with our training day. If you're interested in helping out the club please let us know. We would love to have you for the day.

08.01.2022 You’re in luck!!! Did you miss out?! Due to the conditions of the grounds and cancelling the original WEC training date we now have a new one ... Sunday 2nd August, Morisset Showgrounds. With the date change we have had some riding spots become available in both dressage and jumping. For riders interested please make contact with the club via email ASAP... Have a great riding weekend

07.01.2022 Hi lovely people. We need some helpers for our Dressage & Show jumping training day on Sunday 29th November at Morisset Showground. We need pencillers and scorers from around 9am until 3pm - you don't have to do the whole day you could just do a few hours. You will be re-imbursed $15 an hour. Pencilling is an excellent way to further your knowledge about what judges look for in a dressage test. No experience needed, you just need to be over 16 years & be able to write legib...ly. Scoring is in an excel program in the office and all training will be given. Come & learn, help out & have fun. Please message us your email or phone contact so our Roster co-ordinator, Kellie can get in touch. Cheers...Margie See more

07.01.2022 If anyone is available to help setup the arenas at Morisset show ground this afternoon, we will be there from 2.30. Thanks in Advance

03.01.2022 Whats coming up for the November WEC day? ** Musical Freestyle ** Why not give it a go.... freestyles are NOT just for the elite riders, but also for riders at all levels.... Freestyles are an increasingly important part of competitive dressage. They are mandatory for any FEI rider and with the growth and addition of the Dressage finals. Because of the skill required to ride to and stay with the music, a higher degree of proficiency is required in musical freestyles than for the highest test of the level. Riders who are proficient at the chosen level of competition can choose to show off their skills by entering a Musical Freestyle. The addition of music can be an inspiration to the rider and audience alike, not to mention that it gives us a creative outlet and another way to explore the sport we love.
