The ones I met at Kruger Lodge were confident and curious. This guy had no qualms letting me get up close and personal while taking his photograph.... 13.01.2022 So, I am thinking about my next piece. I have painted very few owls, and this one is my favourite. I love birds as they fly over us every day, unable to be caught and trapped, as they go about their birdy business. What about another owl peeps? Yay or nay?

13.01.2022 Just received an in situ photo of The Rooster. This is definitely one of my faves and a Waterfall classic painting. All of my paintings seem to end up with just the right person. The Rooster is no exception and has landed in a just- turned-18 years old's BOY'S bedroom. How appropriate LOL!!... Art! Just get it into you!

09.01.2022 Just to show the size. I didn't quite get all the image, but you can see how large Q is in this painting. This is a 76 x 76 cm canvas, which is my smallest standard size for pet portraits. Jet me a message if you want more details.

09.01.2022 Well, my utter obsession with Sydney Harbour continues haha. Bones are down for Spring View, this could end up swinging one of two ways, towards a more detailed and tight finish, or a looser chunky vibe. I will have to do some painting whispering and listen to what the painting wants. Art! It's alive and awesome!

06.01.2022 I "paint" a painting in my mind's eye long before it ever hits the canvas. It can be the same subject in different colors, compositions and vibes, but once I hit the canvas and lay down the bones of the image, then it's locked in. The hard part is over now for Q and the fun part comes, painting in his personality, having fun with colors in his fur, adding all the elements to bring him to life

03.01.2022 It's me vs this canvas today! I have a pet portrait to create of a woofer called Q, a spoiled, stately older doggo with that boxer energy that only a boxer can have. I'm super amped to be capturing his coolness in the Waterfall way, with zesty, vibrant and punchy colours and shapes. Watch this space. Art! You know what to do
