15.01.2022 Waterfalls of Tasmania (WoT) waterfall feature is by @lake_of_tranquility of Bastion Cascades. Dietmar said, "The Meander Valley in Tasmania’s North West is one of my favourite areas for waterfall hunting. The lush beauty of the ancient myrtle forests and the jumble of moss covered rocks and boulders always leaves a very powerful impression on me. The reward of my most recent mission with my mate @bjornbaklien earlier this week was very sweet indeed. A word of warning though:... This is not an area for casual strolling. The amazing beauty on offer in the area needs to be earned through long and exhausting, often muddy hikes in steep terrain that require your constant attention to stay on the mostly overgrown tracks with many big obstacles. . Canon 5D Mark IV with 16-35 f/2.8L II Blend of multiple images to retain sharpness in foliage and water texture and preserve highlights @nisifiltersaustralia CPL ." . About Bastion Cascades: If you're a lover of stunning scenery, excellent waterfalls, magnificent cliff overhangs and small caves all encased in rainforest, then Bastion Cascades along with the Stone Hut loop walk should be high on your priority list. Bastion Cascades is a series of waterfalls and cascades that flow along Bastion Creek in the Meander State Forest Reserve in Tasmania's north. The creek flows between magnificent cliffs providing spectacular views throughout your walk. . Please view the featured photographers gallery here @lake_of_tranquility . 08.01.2022 Waterfalls of Tasmania (WoT) waterfall feature is by @simonsturzakerphotography of Westmoreland Falls. Simon said, "A shot from Westmoreland Falls earlier this week. With our recent heavy rainfall here in @Tasmania I spent the day out with @father_richard checking out Westmoreland and Liffey Falls. This was my first visit to Westmoreland Falls and it is quite and impressive and had some nice waterflow. Thanks to Peter for being such a great model in the scene. I have worked ...with better.... but not many!". . Please view the featured photographers gallery here @simonsturzakerphotography . Westmoreland Falls is a magnificent hidden gem tucked away in lush rainforest, just a short 15 minute drive from Mole Creek. . The track to the falls is marked by small ribbons and arrows, which guide you through the dense scrub to your destination. The walk itself is typical for an uneven bush track, with sections of the walk quite steep. After approximately 40 minutes of walking, you reach Westmoreland Falls, and the effort is well worth it. . Westmoreland Falls is absolutely gorgeous, and well situated in its intimate surroundings. For photographers, there's many vantage points to photograph the waterfall, due to the walk taking you directly to the base of the falls. Adjacent to Westmoreland Falls are small cascades which also make for lovely photographic opportunities. . If you're visiting North / North West Tasmania, Westmoreland Falls is definitely worth checking out. For a full day of waterfalls, consider visiting Lobster Falls, near Mole Creek, or the beautiful Liffey Falls, just 30 minutes away by car.
