22.01.2022 To save hassle, confusion and rumours regarding the previous post relating to Senior Grade Teams at Waterford RLFC in 2018. It has been discussed at great lengths the direction of the club, and as such we will be concentrating our efforts towards establishing teams in BRL Reserve Grade, Open 2 and Under 21's for next season. If in the event the Club and Coaching Coordinators believe there is a need to establish an Open 1 or Open 3 team due to player numbers, that is when th...ese discussions will be re-opened. Every player at Waterford RLFC will be given the opportunity to play Rugby League at the highest level in our region and we appreciate everyone's efforts towards ensuring the best possible future for our club participants. Our goal is first and foremost providing a genuine pathway to Senior Rugby League for our junior players which includes a team in the renamed BRL Reserve Grade competition, with aspirations of joining the BRL A Grade competition in 2019. These decisions have not been made lightly, and all aspects have been reviewed, our club welcomes all new and returning players to join our Senior Preseason Training Monday and Wednesday Nights at the club, starting at 6:30pm.

21.01.2022 Seniors training tonight, 6:30pm start.

21.01.2022 I am sorry it has taken way too long to get this video ready... but here it is... We as a club and as a family, are so very humbled and blessed to be able to thank everyone involved with our first inaugural Listen, Love, Learn Event at Waterford RLFC, back in July. Thank you to the volunteers, thank you to our partners, thank you to our community both near and a far, without your generosity and support this event would have not been possible. Thank you to Mark Beaumont, Luke... Archer and Leon Panapa (Souths Logan Magpies), David Shillington (NRL State of Mind), and a massive special mention to the boys from the Burleigh Bears (Luke Page and Jeff Lynch) who answered the late call up and made the day extremely special for our younger players by presenting Man of the Match Awards in the Under 15 game. We would like to especially mention our Corporate Partners for this event; Emu Sportwear for supplying and donating jerseys and commemorative shirts, Diggers Services Club and Greenbank RSL, Livin, Headspace Meadowbrook; in-conjunction with all of our Premier Grade Partners and Junior Partners for 2017, and all of the families that represented our Mental Health, Anti-Bullying and Teen Suicide Prevention Awareness program by purchasing our commemorative shirts. To our affiliate partners, the programs that we as a club stand behind; NRL State of Mind, Kodi's Message, #MTC Mates Talk Change, thank you for embracing the vision of our event. We just want to say thank you for your support, for embracing our clubs vision to putting a stop to the silence when it comes to Mental Health, Anti-Bullying and Teen Suicide Prevention. 20.01.2022 Here is the link to the Full Match Replay of our BRL Reserve Grade game against Beenleigh Pride, Saturday 21st April 2018. Another tough day on the field for the Waterford RLFC boys last weekend, having several players recalled to Easts BRL A Grade, injuries and unavailable due to personal reasons. Many of the young and rebuilding squad are still finding their feet in this highly competitive competition, with youthful energy, no match for the experience of the Beenleigh Pride... team on Saturday, with the home side running out winners 56 to 10. Still under the circumstances there were still some very good individual performances by returning Captain AJ Ma Chong, Nick Yule, Laithan Joseph, Moeyy Annewetey and Joseph Seeto which at times enabled the Waterford side to have some positive passages of play, however defensively, especially locking the ball up in tackles was a major issue, as Beenleighs support play exposed Waterfords inability to compose, and cover defend. Even with a blow-out score line, the Waterford RLFC can be proud of the boys, who even though out experienced and out played by a better team on the day, never gave up until the final siren sounded. We would also like to make special mention of our Round 5 Official Game Day Partner, Australian Manufacturers Workers Union (AMWU), thank you from our entire team for supporting our Senior BRL Reserve Grade Program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgIWLj4XR80

11.01.2022 My apologises for the lateness of last weeks FULL GAME REPLAY of Waterford RLFC vs Wests Brisbane Panthers being posted. The Waterford RLFC boys came out of the gates hard and fast, knowing that they only had 1 on the bench for the 70minute match, playing very physical football early and pressuring the Panthers outfit into uncharacteristic attacking errors. It took a brilliant pick up and kick return from Waterford Fullback Brett Ferguson to open the scoring account for the ...afternoon, returning the ball 100m and evading some very fast finishing defence from the Panthers. From there it became a struggle for the home side to maintain intensity, and things got worse as the team lost Under 19 Representative player Laithan Joseph to a shoulder injury around the 10minute mark, leaving the home side with no bench for the remaining 60minutes. Wests capitalized on the fatiguing Waterford players running 5 tries in the next 20minutes to jump out to a 28 to 6 lead. It took a lucky bounce and some very quick feet from Halfback Nick Yule to put the Demons into scoring position with 3minutes left until halftime, and it was the quick service, pushing up and support play that led to Brett Ferguson beating his opponent 1 on 1 to get Waterford's second try of the half. Half Time score Waterford 10 trailing West Brisbane 28. The Second Half started similar to the first, with the Waterford team responding to direct instructions from Coaching Staff to give everything they had, and finish this game with the same pride they started it. Players took more individual accountability in their efforts to perform, regardless of the numbers they had, and committed to each other, in a stirring display of grit and determination, scoring the first try of the Second Half with great ball movement from a scrum inside their own 30m, with Jack Schaffer getting on the outside of his opponent, drawing the fullback and hitting support runner David McKenna to grab the 4 pointer, with Nick Yule adding the extras things looked promising only trailing by 12 points. However, things continued to worsen in the casualty ward with the loss of inform Utility Back David McKenna with 20minutes to go and the Waterford boys were resolved to completing the match with 12 men, and what a display of courage, commitment and brotherhood they put on. Unfortunately all of things are great to have, but when fatigue sets in, it is hard to stop a freight train. The Panthers were relentless in their approach to completing sets and scoring whenever an opportunity presented itself, with the only consolation for the Waterford RLFC faithful being a short kickoff turnover with 2 minutes on the clock, ending with a great determination try by Halfback Nick Yule on what turned out to be the last play of the game. Full Time Score Waterford 22 defeated by Wests Brisbane 56. We hope you enjoy the FULL GAME REPLAY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzMKnMraKkk&t=73s

10.01.2022 Here we go...First Trial games for 2018...All 3 Senior teams on Saturday Night....KEEN!!!!!

10.01.2022 Here is the Full Match Replay of our BRL Reserve Grade game against Wynnum Manly, Saturday 28th April 2018. Wynnum Manly jumped out to an impressive lead at half time 26 to 0, which included everything going the home sides way; bounces, bumps, mis-reads and everything that could possibly be favourable in a match. The Wynnum boys exposed and executed with precision when these opportunities presented, taking control of the match within the first 25 minutes. Waterford on the oth...er hand fought every which way they could to keep themselves in the game, with some very entertaining periods inside the first half, displaying some very promising signs, after last weeks complete melt down against the Beenleigh Pride. During his half time address Coach Ben McDermott reinforced the positive passages and instructed his men to lift and add further pressure and physicality than what was displayed in the first half, whilst focussing on a few areas to clean up. The players responded in what could be said as the teams most promising half of football this year; competing at every opportunity and improving on the key areas of marker defence, conceded penalties and offensive shape. The second half was an extremely close encounter with the Seagulls scoring a late try in the final minutes of play and running out Full Time winners 36 to 6. Players with strong performances included; Leon Ellia Nukore whose return to football is most welcomed by both the Waterford RLFC and Easts Tigers, AJ Ma Chong, Brett Ferguson, Latrey Haeata and Loto Taamaletoa with these players Second Half performances establishing a stronger more competitive result. Even with a high Full Time score line, the Waterford RLFC can be proud of the boys who were a part of yesterdays game, considering where a majority of them were only seven days ago, stepped up to the new challenges set by Coaching Staff and become closer to each other through adversity, this is still a very young and inexperienced team, however with the continuance of their development, the future is beginning to look a lot brighter at Noffke Park. We would also like to make special mention of our Round 6 Official Game Day Partner, EMU Sportswear, thank you from our entire team for supporting our Senior BRL Reserve Grade Program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LN02Hkoj44g

09.01.2022 Hello to all of our Waterford RLFC fans, here is this weeks replay instalment of our BRL Reserve Grade action against Wests Brisbane Panthers. I would like to especially mention our Round 3 Official Game Day Partner OneBuild Homes for their ongoing support of our program. This was truly a game of 2 halves, with the Waterford boys getting out to a 12 to 0 lead at half time, with the injection of some of the Waterford faithful, including the return of team Captain AJ MA Chong, ...Jesse Hodgson and Joey Seeto for season 2018, the boys dominated many areas of play, including 2 tries to Easts stand out centre Brett Ferguson. Many of the new players to our program this year including forwards the Haeata brothers, Joseph Suitauloa and Frank Fualema (who both made their Waterford debuts this week), really showed a strong future for the club. The second half however really didn't go to script, with the Wests boys flying out of the gates and getting the scoreline back to a level playing field within the first 5 minutes. The Wests sides enthusiasm, willingness to compete and play the ball speed became very difficult to prevent, and with an abundant amount of penalties against the Waterford boys, ascendancy was invaluable as the Panthers ran out winners 26 to 16. The Waterford RLFC BRL Reserve Grade boys will get another opportunity to open their 2018 season account this coming Saturday 4pm kick off, 14th April 2018 playing at home against the 2017 Premiers Valleys, which shapes up as another great encounter in this new competition that seems to have a majority of its opponents so evenly matched. The Waterford BRL Under 21 boys will also have the same opportunity playing the 2:30pm curtain raiser to the main game against Rochedale. We hope you all enjoy the opportunity to watch this replay, and we look forward to seeing you all at Waterford RLFC next Saturday, as the boys in Green and Gold, take on Valleys. 06.01.2022 For those of our supporters who don't wish to watch the full match replay of last weekends BRL Reserve Grade match between Waterford RLFC and Wests Brisbane Panthers, there are some snippets for you to enjoy. Special mention goes to our Official Round 8 Game Day Partner Protect Life Insurance for their ongoing support of our BRL Reserve Grade Program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeGyN0DetS8

05.01.2022 Here is the Full Match Replay of our BRL Reserve Grade game against Valleys, Saturday 14th April 2018. Even though it was a tough day at the office for the Waterford RLFC boys, there are still plenty of positives to come out of yesterday's 36 to 6 loss to the 2017 defending Premiership Winners. Solid performances by Ben Kelly, Aaron Pidcock, Nick Yule, Laithan Joseph and Loto Taamaletoa during the course of the game helped keep the match tight until midway through the second ...half. Considering the very physical nature of the game and 6 key players missing from the Waterford RLFC squad through injury and family commitments, our depth may have been tested, but our resolve was never giving up until the final whistle blew. We would also like to make special mention of our Round 4 Official Game Day Partner, Protect Life Insurance, thank you to Trish and her entire team for supporting our Senior BRL Reserve Grade Program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3PsRlM80Ng
