18.01.2022 Vote Greg Homer Shire of Dardanup Council Elections 2017 Saturday 21st October I have two big questions to answer; who am I and why would I like to represent our community?... The Shire of Dardanup has been home for just over six years now. My family and I moved here when we purchased the Waterloo Village Caravan Park - a business I run with my father, Graham. Since then my wife, Jasmine, and I have welcomed three beautiful children into the world. As a father I am more certain than ever that community is the key to happiness and fulfillment. I have a vested interest in helping to shape the environment in which my children are growing up and my will to help build a community that is safe, inclusive, interactive and progressive is the driving force behind my decision to nominate. At the heart of any community is a desire to feel safe. I intend to make safety and security a priority in my role as one of your council representatives. This is a many-faceted challenge but it is one that we can tackle by working towards an inclusive community where everyone no matter their age, abilities or social status - feels valued. I am a big supporter of the robust and diverse program of social events offered by the Shire of Dardanup and I plan to help maintain and enrich these services. I believe that well planned and well run community facilities are essential for the enrichment of our lives and to provide a sense of belonging. It is through regular exposure to social activities whether sporting, artistic or philanthropic that our children can gain an understanding of the community values that will nurture and shape our Shire into the future. I take a genuine, active interest in the business and social endeavours of local individuals. I embrace the enthusiasm of those who want to contribute to our community in positive ways and I welcome and support ideas that have the potential to promote healthy change. I believe that empowering individuals to do their best is the most effective form of leadership. As well as being a business owner I also hold tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business Management, Architectural Drafting, Hotel Management and Health and Fitness which, when combined with 41 years of life and business experience give me a strong grounding to serve our community. I welcome you to contact me if you would like to discuss any issues of importance to our community: [email protected] Authorised by Greg Homer 14749 South West Highway Picton 6229
