25.01.2022 Another great fit out with a .. sort of good fishing session to follow. Leon Pettet and the boys smashed it on a session in Burketown with some great fish being caught and some faces too! Leon bit the bullet and got all of his electrics checked out here at WaterSafe Electrical. Karl Ernst took out this awesome Leslie dam Cod following an ultimate upgrade to his half cabin beast. Next level Minn kota Ulterra 80Lb 24Volt game changer. The combination of Karl's custom made bracket, Self Deploy motor function and Scanstrut pressure fitting prove that it is more than possible to have the best of both worlds utilising the benefits ...of a half cabin in the salt AND in the fresh. The Lowrance HDSLive still proves itself amongst the competitive high end fish finders. As a Humminbird man it was enjoyable being on board this boat to see how the Lowrance performs. I must say I love the ability to customise window settings and the ability to view data in a six-panel split screen is nothing but impressive. A Pro Mariner 3 bank 20Amp on-board charger is used to keep all of the batteries on the boat charged with the ease of one 240 volt plug. Karl also has the ability to control his electrical system with 3 way switching. 18.01.2022 Thanks Mark Robinson from Gold Coast Boating Centre for this little weapon. Just ran in the new Renegade 480 and what a great session, nearly 30 bass landed. Extremley happy with the performance of the 70HP four stroke Yamaha. Anyone need a boat come see this guy, great bloke and doesn't muck around. 16.01.2022 AND the gates are open! What an awesome atmosphere out on the water @ Cooby. Everyone seemed to show great fishing edicate and it seemed like at one point just about everyone on the dam was landing a fish. Plenty of smiling faces too. Even come across one of my installs. Great to see Brendon, Carly and little Cooper putting the Skeeter's electronics to full use. For anyone looking to get the kids onto a few fish, head into Fish 'N' Bits Bait & Tackle' and grab yourself a small vibe and go jig it hard on the bottom.

11.01.2022 The Watersafe boys stole a few days off to do some exploring in Monduran over the last couple of days. Unfortunately lucked out myself this time but we had some great fun chasing those big humminbird shadows. Jackall Squirrels did most of the damage but I suspect the rain and bad weather accounted for the small bite times. We still have some unfinished business with this dam!

08.01.2022 Flush mounting is difficult to get right... but not impossible! Some units such as the HUMMINBIRD HELIX 9 can be difficult to mount, as in-dash mounting kits are not readily available in AUS. But, with a bit of patience and a bit of modern ingenuity, simple and cost effective brackets can be made to secure the units firmly in place. Pro tip... measure twice, cut once! AND when possible, cut smaller holes.. its easier to shave more out than re-fiberglass your dash! This unit come up a treat and Chris will no doubt feel more confidant on the water now with his new LED control panel and navigation lights. Hope to see some big catches soon. 07.01.2022 HOW TO CATCH A METER PLUS BARRA. 1. Get yourself down to Fish 'N' Bits Bait & Tackle' and ask the boys to kit you out with a rod and reel combo big enough to handle the big girls. 2. If you dont already have Side Imaging, you need to ask them to set you up with one of those bad boys too.... 3. Do your homework on your fish finder, take the manual out of the packet and learn it back to front. While you do that Watersafe can install it for you, giving you the best possible chance at getting it right from day dot. 4. Find yourself a good Barra impoundment, it can be hard work in the dams but its worth it. The WaterSafe Electrical team chose to stay at Lake Callide Retreat as it has great amenities, is a great camp ground in an unbeatable location and accommodates well for fisherman at all levels. 5. Talk to the locals, get out on the water and tune your fish finder in, adjusting sensitivity, chart speed, depth and SI range. We have included screenshots of the settings required on the Humminbird Helix 9 on this occasion to pick up the big girls that were found after several hours of slow searching. 6. Select your lure, based on the depth of your readings. As you can see, we found the big girls moving midway through 6 feet of water and decided to use a range of 2 to 3 feet slow diving hard bodies to better target the bite zone. 7.
