There has been serious school violence that has had serious consequences, as well as a drowning incident that claimed the schools beloved five students Facing this situation, when being transferred to be the Principal of Bung Rieng Secondary School in the school year 2017-2018, Mr. Le Van Chinh contacted the organization "Water Safety Vietnam" of Australia, asking for funding to assist students in swimming lessons. Water Safety Vietnam organization has funded and sent volunteers to teach swimming for school students.

11.01.2022 The WSV program at St Josephs Charity school, now runs independently. WSV trained swim teachers, mentored them for a few years and now children learn a vital life saving skill.
