25.01.2022 It was a lovely surprise to find these succulent blooms on the deck this morning!

21.01.2022 It’s a beautiful day here on the island. The rain seems to have gone for the time being and we have blue sky! The tide’s in and the water is crystal clear! The only sound is the lapping of the water and the ever present birdsong. Ahhhh, island life!

20.01.2022 If you’re on the island, a visit to the Macleay Island Arts Complex is a must do. There’s so much talent on the SMBIs - pop in for a peek!

19.01.2022 A few of the locals just chillin’ out at Water’s Edge.

18.01.2022 Thanks to our friend, Heather for sending us this link. Guests at Water’s Edge may like to join one of these tours as a relaxing way to check out the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. Not a tours person? Why not take the time to explore these spots yourself and at your leisure. There’s plenty to see on the islands and friendly locals to meet!

16.01.2022 It’s a bee-utiful day on Macleay! The bees are loving this flowering palm!

16.01.2022 Beautiful Dalpura sunsets!

15.01.2022 It’s been great weather for ducks! We have two families who like to visit our backyard at the moment. One family sees Mum and Dad proudly parading their six toddlers and the other sees proud parents initiating four little fluff balls into island life. Both sets of parents are very protective and diligently looking out for any threats.

13.01.2022 You never know what you’ll find happening on beautiful Macleay Island. From markets, art exhibits, live music, old car and boat exhibits, workshops at the arts complex, craft groups, walking groups and so much more. And then there’s swimming, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, boating, sailing, dragon boating etc. If you’re after quieter pursuits, find a quiet corner and lose yourself in a book (there are several street libraries scattered around the island), choose one of the many scenic spots on the island and sketch or paint your view or grab the binoculars and be pleasantly surprised at the variety of bird species to be found here. Learn to sail, play golf or have a go at lawn bowls. Or ....... make a cuppa, put your feet up, relax and shoot the sea breeze. As the sun goes down, grab a cool drink, some nibblies and your camera!

12.01.2022 This event gives you the chance to meet the Island writers, listen to four local authors talking about their new books and pick up some holiday reading material. Enjoy some live music and a Devonshire tea - included in the $2 entry fee. What a bargain!

09.01.2022 Sunset at Dalpura Beach, Macleay Island. The combination of dust and smoke gave us a sunset full of beautiful colours!

09.01.2022 Time and tide provide an ever changing view of the bay ....

09.01.2022 Another beautiful sunset at Water’s Edge!

08.01.2022 Another beautiful day gets underway on Macleay. Everything’s looking fresh after a cracker of a storm late yesterday afternoon! Here’s this morning’s soundtrack ...

08.01.2022 So many shades of green in the garden!

07.01.2022 Lovely to see blue sky and sunshine today! It’s almost high tide and the water is crystal clear, perfect time for a cooling dip!

03.01.2022 Whether you’re living or holidaying on Macleay Island, you might like to pay a visit to Willow and Oak Fruit and Vege. This relatively new business is such a great addition to the island and is so much more than just a fruit shop. Each visit reveals beautiful fresh fruit and veggies but you’ll also find a selection of beautiful meats, fresh milk, simmer sauces, pastes, jams, local honey, free range eggs, relishes, grains, nuts and heaps more. It’s a little bit like a foodie’s Alladin’s Cave, with something new to discover each time. Cinnamon dusted almonds have been one of our favorite finds - one is NEVER enough. Oh and don’t miss the great selection of succulents and herbs on your way in! Do yourself a favor ..... #willowandoak

02.01.2022 Tamborines and elephants are playin’ in the band ......

02.01.2022 Called in to the Macleay Island Arts Complex today to take a peek at the current exhibit, Monochrome Challenge. Each artist was to use green paint to which only black or white could be added. The results are fantastic and with so many entries there’s sure to be something to appeal to everyone’s taste. The exhibit closes tomorrow so if you haven’t already had a leisurely browse, drop by tomorrow!

01.01.2022 It’s true! Living or holidaying by the water brings on those happy feels! Watching the tide rise and fall, enjoying the sunset over the bay and falling asleep to the sound of lapping water - why we love Water’s Edge!
