19.01.2022 Norris’ Knockout Selections!!! This week we've asked the wine-buying guru of the business to come up with his favourite wines from the last month of tasting. Here are Norris’ picks. MULLINE SAUVIGNON BLANC 2020 - $30... I can’t say that I drink Aussie Sav Blanc very often, but if they were as good as this, I would! Juicy, textural, salty, spicy. Kiwifruit, ripe lime and tangy. Mouthwatering! TONIC ROSE 2019 - $30 The Year of the Rose - a style that gets better and better! Tonic’s rendition is spicy, lightly textural, sensual and mineral. Beautifully refreshing. FREDERICK STEVENSON MONTEPULCIANO 2018 - $38 A Montepulciano as suave and sexy as Pinot! Ripe blackcurrant, cherry cola, camphor and dark spice. It’s a big wine, but with a weightless quality, that brings you back, again and again. Remarkable really, and without peer for the price. MASSOLINO BARBERA D’ALBA 2018 - $43 Smouldering boysenberry, plum, coal smoke, black cherry and brown sugar. Tasting doesn’t disappoint, rather, it’s an affirmation. Hedgerow fruits, juicy and silken, and very round in the mouth. Rich, ripe, dark chocolate tannins. Unbelievable. EISENSTONE GREENOCK SHIRAZ 2017 - $75 Bring on Barossa! Bigger, chewier and more gripping than the Marananga. More presence in the mouth, with prominent oak, that needs a real airing or time in the bottle to integrate. Cascading dark fruits, spices, ripe tannins and freshness. Beautiful power. KELLER RIESLANER AUSLESE 2017 - $59 Rieslaner is a cross between Riesling and Silvaner, which is probably why it’s cheaper than the classic Riesling and not taken as seriously. Keller’s Auslese is nothing short of incredible. Grapefruit, lime, peach, cherry, lavender, sugar dusted dried pineapple, blood orange and passionfruit. Tasted over 3 days and didn’t lose its freshness. A knockout! Browse these great wines and more on our website.

14.01.2022 Julian Haart!!! Since 2010, he's been purchasing his own vineyards and crafting some of the most sumptuous and vivid Rieslings to come out of Germany. There's also a vineyard swap with Klaus Peter Keller, taking both producers into uncharted vinous waters.... Read more about this 'Mosel' rising star in our blog.

08.01.2022 Frederick Stevenson winner of Young Gun of Wine This year's winner of the Young Gun of Wine - Winemaker's Choice Award is Steve Crawford from Frederick Stevenson wines. Steve worked his way around the wine world, before returning to South Australia to start his own label.... Frederick Stevenson wines are refined, elegant and tightly structured. The fruit is sourced from two vineyard sites the biodynamic Vine Vale property in the Barossa Valley, and a rugged hilltop to the north of the Eden Valley. These fantastic wines are a nod to both traditional Australian wines and an exploration of less familiar varieties and styles. Small batches, minimal intervention. And now sure to be in even higher demand! Shop their range on our website.

05.01.2022 Forlorn Hope, USA Owner and winemaker Matt Rorick believes strongly that it's all about the site and the fruit. His 75-acre Californian vineyard is organically farmed and the vines sit at an elevation of 2000 feet on limestone soils. With no alterations or additions (save for a little SO2 at bottling), these wines are a true and unadulterated expression of the Rorick Heritage Vineyard.... The Forlorn Hope and Queen of the Sierra wines tread both sides of the path - plenty of classic, familiar flavours and textures but with an edge of exoticism and individuality that sets them apart. Not to be missed!
