05.01.2022 Howdy, We are seeking a Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our little team. We are a small café with a big focus on being a welcoming, friendly space. THE VENUE... We are a industrial themed coffee shop outside of the CBD. We focus on healthy and delicious breakfast/brunch food. Our constant aim is to be the best Café in Alice Springs. You must have a passion for food and enjoy working in a team. YOU You need to be able to work alone and unsupervised, take initiative, be trustworthy and be passionate about hospitality. Your role will be predominantly Wednesday - Sunday, however flexibility is paramount, as the business is determined on growth. Being an all rounder and enjoying food is number one. Your role is to make our patrons feel at home with the food we are serving them. When people walk away from a venue, we want them to remember the service and the delicious food. A can do attitude, ability to multitask and work under pressure. There will be opportunities to develop the menu and work with our our local suppliers to further enhance your product knowledge. You don't need any formal chef qualifications for this role but a passion for food is a requirement. If you do not have a food safety certificate and are willing to get one and we may subsidise this cost for the right person. Experience is preferred, but genuine passion and the right attitude go a long way. 25-40 hours available depending upon applicant and business demands. Please email with your details and resume. Job Type: Full-time hrs / Casual Rate Schedule: Breakfast/Lunch Service Experience: Chef: 1 year (Preferred) Work Eligibility: Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (e.g. citizen, permanent resident) (Preferred) Commercial Cookery Qualification: Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (Preferred) Job Duties: - Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required - Follow recipes and presentation specifications - Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently - Oversee and manage kitchen operations - Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations - Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities - Train other kitchen staff - Operate an industrial dishwasher, washing dishes and glassware by hand when necessary - Unload dishes, silverware, and glassware promptly and store them in the appropriate places - Carry out basic cleaning tasks around the premises - Assist Manager and waitstaff as required, especially during peak hours - Escalate major issues where necessary (e.g. safety risks, equipment failure) Other duties as requested Additional Duties: - Menu Planning - Food Ordering - Stock Wastage and Management - Recording food temperature - Preparing reports
