At this point in time, per last nights committee meeting, it is Squash as Usual at Waterview Heights Squash Club. However please be mindful of personal hygiene - washing hands etc. and respect others personal decisions as to other preventative measures they wish to take to protect themselves. You'll notice a lot of missed games on them (blank yellow squares), but don't despair, You have until Monday 13th July to catch them all up & become squash fit for the next new comp! Alternatively, you & your opponent can notify Trace Johnson of a forfeit, where available match scores can be doubled up from the duplicate round.... Thursday nighters are encouraged to book in their first catch up games to play this Thursday the 2nd July. Don't forget, the Covid Cup FINALS NIGHT for both Monday & Thursday comps will be held on Thursday 16th July. *If you are not going to be available to play on finals night please please please make sure you either pre-play the day before, or organise someone to SUB in for you on the night. (We really don't want to see any last minute forfeits this time round.)

We only had a couple of weeks left of play from our first comp in 2020, as such it has been decided that we will finish off that competition before beginning a new one. You may also book in to play these games, as well as any catch ups of games you missed before the Covid Closing, from Thursday 2nd July. 06.01.2022 CLOSURE NOTICE To help stop the spread of Coronavirus during this pandemic, the Australian government has just officially announced the mandatory closure of all indoor sports facilities from 12 noon, Monday 23rd March 2020... this includes our wonderful little squash centre at Waterview Heights. ... So until further notice, the Waterview Heights Squash Club Inc. will be CLOSED. This means no more casual court hire, no social Wed doubles & no more Monday or Thursday comps nights until after lock down ends. I know you will have questions and we (the committee) will update you with further information as it becomes available. 01.01.2022 As of this Saturday, 13th June, our squash courts are allowed to reopen!! There are however, some restrictions: - Everyone will be required to use hand sanitiser provided and formally sign in on arrival & when leaving.... - If you are not well please stay home. - You will need to book a court in advance. ( No walk-ins without notice ) - We are required to adhere to social distancing & contact tracing requirements which limit how many people can be in the squash centre at one time & need to allow for cleaning to take place in between bookings. - The shower facilities will be unavailable until further notice, however you may still use the toilets. - Drinking directly from the water cooler won't be allowed, pleade bring a water bottle to fill instead. - Everyone will be required to follow the health and safety protocols that will be sign-posted throughout the centre. - We are all excited to start playing squash & socialising again, but we must follow the procedures outlined for us to be able to keep the courts open & safe for all. - Weekly competitions & doubles games won’t be able to start up again until July, after restrictions are lifted. However we are keen to get the comps organised & going again, so please let me know if you are keen to play! - Some work is being done at the squash courts this Saturday in preparation of the reopening.
