15.01.2022 This is a motorcycle related post : I have seen a lot of people saying the most recent Home Confinement Direction doesnt apply to motorcycles riding alone because riding falls in the exception of "exercise". In this regard they rely on an article in a motorcycle magazine which makes this assertion based on a conversation with a public servant on a COVID info line. I am not going to express an opinion about whether riding a motorcycle is exercise or not. That will just invit...e the belligerents to argue. I am going to tell you, as a lawyer who does this shit every day, that what someone tells you on an info line is not worth shit. It is a low grade public servants interpretation of an undefined term ("physical exercise") in a Direction of from the Chief Health Officer under the Public Health Act. That persons opinion means nothing in a court of law. If you get charged, and in NSW you could face 6 months jail, in Queensland up to a $13k fine, you will have to convince a magistrate that the term "physical exercise", in a Health Direction aimed at keeping people home unless necessary, was intended to include recreational motorcycle riding. Telling the magistrate what someone told you on the phone might make your sentence more lenient but that is all. It will have no probative value as far as interpreting the Direction. So make up your own mind what it means. But please dont go thinking that if you get caught you will have a get out of jail free card because of some magazine article or what someone said in comments on Facebook. Im not sure how this would be interpreted in WA but I suspect it would be the same here ! So sadly, dont ride your Trike. Stay Home

10.01.2022 From a post on another Trike Page : Hi all. Im currently working in the Police Operations Centre for the COVID-19 response. It is understood that people wish to know if they are allowed or not allowed to go for a ride based on whether or not it is being done for exercise. Its difficult to tell whether some people genuinely believe it is a form of exercise, or are just using that as a loophole to get around the Chief Health Officers Directions. The important point t...hat we ask you to consider is why these directions are in place. As a community we are trying to slow the spread of a virus that is potentially deadly - particularly to vulnerable members of our families. That is it. Every single person in the community is impacted by that - and we know riders are included. So before applying the legal test, please apply the moral and community test. The best advice continues to be - Stay at home. Thanks for reading.
09.01.2022 Its a busy weekend. Thommo has turned into a local Icon as a prop for the Highway to Hell. Even though they tried to cut him out of the TV footage. Tonight, Des and Graham are picking up a Bride to Be and Bridesmaid for a ride around the Hills where the Bride has to find clues to end up at her Hens Night Venue.... Tomorrow night is the Queen Rhapsody Concert. Today is the first day of Wheels to Wagin ride.
