22.01.2022 It seems so fitting that the lucky last (and by no means least) artist that I introduce you to is @carlylecerf It was April 2017 and Josh and I had travelled to WA for his best mate’s wedding. We had given ourselves an extra week to do some exploring before his best man duties started. The concept for W&T was very much alive and well but the website was still in production. . From a hotel room in Perth, I reached out to Carly to see about visiting her studio because I wa...nted to include her in our Little Black Book - a service based directory of rural, regional and remote businesses. A visit to her Mount Barker studio and a cuppa later and you could say the rest is history. A beautiful friendship was formed and we both left absolutely star struck by her talent, in her of her process and determined to own a Carly Le Cerf original. . That much dreamed about original now hangs in our bedroom and is an aerial view of our first baby - the Reedy Park property. Anyone who sees it (see stories) comments on how realistic it looks and asks if it’s a photograph; such is the incredible detail. Using Google technology and property maps, Carly created the ultimate anniversary present, one I am unlikely to top, and absolutely nailed the rich red colour of the volcanic Kingaroy soil from the other side of the country. It gives me the utmost joy to be offering an artwork from Carly tonight (very much husband approved) and to see the evolution of dreams and ideas for W&T. 21.01.2022 Farewell . Due to unforeseen circumstances, Wattle & Twine has decided it’s time to say goodbye. I don’t have the words right now that will do justice to the immense amount of gratitude I have for this amazing community - a tribe of 100% supportive, encouraging and insanely talented women who helped turn a crazy dream of mine into an actual reality. The friendships I have made through these tiny squares, I hope are some that will last me a lifetime. But while I struggle on... the right words, here’s the important details: all existing orders and preorders will be filled. orders will close Friday at midnight and be shipped Monday (unless it’s awaiting a preordered item), so if you’ve had your eye on something, now is the time to grab it. There won’t be a closing down sale. all gift certificates will be honoured. all accounts will be settled and stockists contacted in the coming days. Sometimes the hardest decisions to make are the right ones and I take comfort in knowing my little people will receive my undivided attention. .
