24.01.2022 Very pleased to be able to report that a first-crop daughter of Mahisara proved to be the highest priced filly sold at the 2017 Capricornia Sale when Lot 86 was sold for $40,000 to Steven O'Dea Racing P/L. Offered by Tullyard Farm as agent, this quality filly is the fifth foal of the Cape Cross mare Port of Africa, dam of multiple winners Capetown Hussy and Just One Wish. Also found of the catalogue page is the name of Spieth, arguably the best sprinter in Australia yet to win at Group 1 level. Needless to say, we are delighted for Tullyard principals Amelia and Ben Spoelder and their client, and for Wattle Brae Stud's exciting sales freshman stallion Mahisara. Our resident sire-son of More Than Ready is producing quality types and the Capricornia result comes as no surprise.

16.01.2022 The victory of Mishani Krishna at Toowoomba on Saturday evening was exceptionally well received by everyone at Wattle Brae Stud as it proved to be the very first winner of MAHISARA's stud career. Bred and raced by Mishani Enterprises Pty Ltd (Mgr: M D Crooks), this precocious filly won in grand style and established her sire as the second freshman stallion in Australia to be represented by a first-crop 2-year-old winner. Mishani Krishna's win came on the same day as fellow MAHISARA first-crop 2-year-old filly Miss Sara placed second at Doomben picking up a total $21,300 in prizemoney and bonuses. These are hugely encouraging developments for our very promising sire-son of More Than Ready (USA).

16.01.2022 As predicted, Eagle Way is flying the flag for the More Than-Ready-Danehill breed of horse in Hong Kong, scoring a brilliant HK-Gr.3 victory on yesterday's massive Sha Tin program. Even the stupendous Joao Moreira was impressed, stating after the win: He is a serious horse, a serious stayer Today, we saw the best of him so far in Hong Kong, but I think John [Moore] can still improve him. He is fit, but I think that with John’s talent as a trainer, he can take the horse to the next level where he will be a Group 1-quality horse. Of course, Eagle Way is bred in the same cross as Wattle Brae resident stallion Mahisara. It's one of the most successful breeding patterns in the Australian Stud Book and also includes Group 1 winners Prized Icon, Dreamaway, More Than Sacred, Perfectly Ready etc etc!

14.01.2022 This is the quality you can get for $40,000! A delighted Steven O'Dea posted this outstanding picture of the Mahisara-Port of Africa filly on his twitter page (https://twitter.com/Steve_odea).

14.01.2022 The Mahisara babies have been doing a fair bit right of late with his current first crop 3yos starting to really hit their straps . The now 3yo's promised enough as 2yo's to indicate they would be better as they got older and over more ground, and while he never had the impact of a Zoustar or a Spirit of Boom (few stallions ever do what these did as Freshman sires) he had a reasonable amount of runners that had the right trainers talking and keeping us ever hopeful that this ...season would be his time. Just yesterday the Paul Jenkins trained out of the Sunshine Coast "Lets Go Bobby" out of the Bel Esprit mare Te Akau Bel won her maiden in emphatic fashion at only her 2nd start at Ipswich over 1690m, Lets Go Bobby won the race by a clear 4 lengths, hard held. She has become the 3rd 3yo winner by the stallion this season and her future looks bright.

13.01.2022 Second time this week we have the pleasure of reporting on a stakes race victory of significance to resident sire Mahisara; his three-quarter brother Ulmann won the Listed Wangoom Handicap (1200m) at the major Warrnambool racing festive. Ulmann is now a dual stakes winner, having also scored in a Listed event at Flemington late-on in 2016. His six wins have netted close on $450,000 for his connections who include the former celebrated trainer and iconic Queenslander Peter Moody. Unlike some stallions that slowly lose their appeal after retiring from the track, the profile of Mahisara continues to be enhanced with regular frequency. That’s why we at Wattle Brae Stud firmly believe he is one of the most progressive young sires available to Queensland broodmare owners.

13.01.2022 Today’s Doomben winner Miss Sara as a yearling last year
