25.01.2022 New post. KALOF (keep a look out for) it never ceases to amaze me at the the depths some low lifes will stoop to. Overnight some parasitic vermin maskeraiding as a person, felt the need to cut my perimeter electric fence and steal the 3 sets of electric fence I had set up for strip grazing. While it means that I had to give the cattle access to a large paddock instead of being able to practice regenerative farming. But the biggest disappointment is knowing that only someone with farming knowledge would know which wires to cut and as they were long length geared reels they could only be used on reasonable size paddocks. Please KALOF 3 geared reels, 23 tredins (heavy duty, made with dad) and at least one scummy parasite.

22.01.2022 Enjoyable Royal Melbourne Show, good company, good cattle. 21.01.2022 REPOST: Wattledene Murray Greys and Ganado Greys had WIN News Bendigo visit our farms yesterday as part of Stock & Land BEEF WEEK. Both farms also had entries in the RASV Heifer Challenge that were judged Friday. Murray Grey cattle doing well despite the dry!

18.01.2022 Number 45 is in the trap. Mynas were introduced into Australia in 1862 to control insects in market gardens. Since then they have decimated native birds by destroying their eggs and taking control of the best. They also kill off small animals such as sugar gliders. The top knot pigeon also likes the same cat food used to trap mynas, my highest level was releasing 18 pigeons in one day.

17.01.2022 While getting bogged was pretty bad and taking 8hrs to try to get most of the mud out didn't help. The grandchildren have a new game, yes bogging their toys and washing them off has become the latest craze. How embarrassing.

15.01.2022 Today is the day! Make sure you come out to say hi! While you are out our way make sure you make the quick trip down the road to Ganado Greys

10.01.2022 While most people have a pretty good spread and a good few people to help celebrate 40 years of blissful marriage a Covid 19 lock down put an end to the friends and family. There was no point in not having a celebration. Starters was a Zoom meeting with the family followed by a meal dropped off by Megan. It consisted of pork terrine with sourdough bread, baked pumpkin on red wine with mint and pastios, roast cauliflower on carrot puree, broccoli with flacked almonds and goats fetta, scollop potatoes and slow cooked lamb shoulder. Followed by pistachio sorbet, double cream with orange and almond tart. The fourth course was biscuits, pickled cucumber and truffle cream brie and finally hazelnut dark chocolate. If you can't have friends and family you may as well have good food. Thanks family

06.01.2022 I had been using this crossing for a period of time, but on the last trip the rehabilitation plough caught a tree root and bogged the mean, green machine. Tried to pull it out with the David Brown, no hope. Tom Hernon tried with his McCormack, no luck. Next was Lougoon's loader and managed to bog that. Harry then bought some of his Action machinery and removed Matt's loader from the bog. Next two loaders in tandem, apart from broken chains and wire ropes and night approa...ching no luck. Drew Grey and Matt bought 3 massive wire ropes designed for pulling out D7s&. Heavy rain overnight and rising water didn't help pulling from the front or rear. Having abandoned the operation due to rain and lack of progress, some of the greatest minds in Myers Flat went away to ponder the problem. Charles Lougoon's stroke of genius came in the form of an 8 wheel 400HP Stieger, wasn't easy but it did work. Thank you to half of Myers Flat. See more

06.01.2022 11 month old Wattledene Ginny @ 400kg

05.01.2022 108mm of rain over the past week has been great for the dams and paddocks but not so great for the fences.
