25.01.2022 Yesterday we had a Mother's Day afternoon tea The children beautifully decorated lots of mini cupcakes, collected flowers from the garden and helped with the lovely outdoor setting We were so busy and excited all day in anticipation for this special afternoon! Thank you to all our lovely families for coming

22.01.2022 Yesterday we had so much fun with this 'lava game' challenge we set up in the morning. And check out our beanstalk - that big bushy thing growing along the fence! We must've eaten at least 50 giant beans yesterday and there's plenty more growing! It's so important to me that the children have space in nature to seek adventure, run around and pick a snack

21.01.2022 Fun in the rain today with Kind Art Ed and Natural Choice Family Day Care Even I had a turn! We love Honora's tricks, how she boosts our confidence and gets everyone singing and dancing and generally having a blast - rain, hail or shine! Thanks for a fabulous morning!

20.01.2022 Happy New Year! I've had a wonderful first couple of days back open, the children brightening up my place with their energy, laughter, friendships, humour and cleverness. We've eaten home-grown passionfruits, prepared 'party banquets' in the new outdoor kitchen and yesterday had a good old laugh plopping bits of wet sand on one another

12.01.2022 This year for NAIDOC Week, we looked at and talked about Tyrown Waigana's artwork, Shape of Land. From there, we were inspired to explore other aspects of Astralia's Aboriginal history and culture. Last year's Play School episode, Acknowledgement of Country, linked really well with this year's NAIDOC theme: Always Was, Always Will Be. The story about building a gunya (house) inspired us to build our own mini gunya! Now we're planning to build a full-sized one together in th...e following weeks. We read local Dreaming stories put togeteher by Coomaditchie, with beautiful colourful artworks. So many of us admired Saltwater Turtle, painted by local artist Meahala Lango, which I purchased earlier this year. I also loved wearing my NAIDOC shirt and tights, showing Aunty Lorraine and Aunty Narelle's beautiful artwork. Throughout the year, we embed Aboriginal perspectives, and there is always opportunity to improve. The energy and information circulating during NAIDOC Week has given us some new ideas for exploring and celebrating our Aboriginal history, people and culture.

12.01.2022 Love finding little surprises like this during the end of the day clean up

11.01.2022 What did we do today? Walk to the creek for a picnic and a play The soft rain made for a wonderfully peaceful outing. I know it's one of those days I'll always remember, exploring and being in nature together, laughing as we throw sticks into the creek and make up funny stories together. Everyone walked so nicely, holding hands, and we saw so many interesting things on the way. Thank you for coming along Barbara Pietruszewski ... How lucky we are to have each other and live in this beautiful world #nationalfamilydaycareweek

10.01.2022 Yesterday's 'Christmas' visit at our local cafe. Thank you, Rest Cafe for your wonderful service as always. We loved our frothy babycinos and avocado raisin toast! What a lovely walk we had, too

06.01.2022 On Tuesday we went for a little excursion to the local cafe. What a beautiful day for a walk! It was so pleasant noticing all the interesting things along the way and having a relaxing morning tea at the cafe. What a wonderful group of children I get to spend my days with. Thanks for coming along Barbara and singing all your songs to make our morning even more enjoyable!

05.01.2022 Following on from NAIDOC last week, the children wanted to paint their own Aboriginal flag. We sat outside, painting on bits of leftover cardboard, with a flag posted up in front of us to copy. As we went, we talked about what each part of the flag symbolised. It was such a peaceful, enjoyable experience. The children were so focused, and look at those flags! Also, we made some larger gunyas in the sandpit - big enough for one or two children to sit under, this time! We made some tiny ones using play-dough, twigs and gumleaves, too!
