25.01.2022 Today, we reflect on the events of this time twelve years ago when 173 people tragically lost their lives in the 2009 fires. As our communities have forever changed, the loss will never be forgotten nor will the bravery of our firefighters.

22.01.2022 Today we mark one year since the start of the devastating bushfires which deeply affected Victorian communities across the state. On 21 November, 2019 the first... ‘code red’ fire danger rating in almost a decade was declared in the Mallee and Northern Country, and dry lightning strikes in East Gippsland that started three fires which grew to a widespread bushfire disaster that burned for months. Today we reflect on the devastation and challenges that followed 21 November and the incredible support from all emergency services who came together to aid the communities impacted by the unprecedented fire season. 21.01.2022 The Royal Australian Mint has today launched a commemorative $2 coin to honour those who battled the horrific 2019/20 summer bushfires, recognising the determin...ation and commitment of our firefighting communities across Australia. The coin will feature a blaze of orange in the centre, with female and male fireys either side of it, ready for action. $125,000 of the proceeds from the sale of the coins will go to fire and emergency service organisations across the country, including CFA.

20.01.2022 Deciding where to go when you leave early on a high fire risk day should be part of your plan If you do not have friends or relatives in low-risk areas who you can visit, consider community facilities such as libraries, shopping centres or cinemas.

18.01.2022 Christmas Hills Fire Brigade recently responded to a campfire left unattended and sadly across the state we see far too many of these during the warmer months.... Remember that your campfire could easily re-ignite and escape if it isn't properly extinguished with disastrous consequences.
