24.01.2022 Afternoon story times are our favourite! Children learn to love the sound of language before they even notice the existence of printed words on a page. Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word.

20.01.2022 Wattle Roaders enjoyed their incursion earlier this week with our very own dentist, Dr Seth! Dr Seth taught us about the importance of regular brushing, the changes within our mouth as we grow, healthy eating and what to expect when we have an appointment at a dental practice. We loved having you visit us and we loved learning all about dental health! Our educators then engaged Wattle Roaders in an educational activity to demonstrate the cleaning process of brushing, and how teeth become white and clean when we brush. Thank you Dr Seth

19.01.2022 This week at Wattle Road Early Education Centre we are embracing this cold weather and holding Pyjama week. Pyjama day is held around the community during winter to raise money for Asthma awareness and research. We will be holding Pyjama day every day to include every one! Today the dancing dolphins created a cozy corner by making a Pillow fort, they all enjoyed getting comfy in the cubby, reading books and playing with toys together! Developing relationships and sharing p...lay time together helps improve social and emotional development within children - look out for tomorrows pics to see what else we are up too this week!!! This is a fun way we develop relationships with children, one of the quality areas of the National Standards as we support children to collaborate, learn from and help each other - Quality Area 5 Relationships with children It also helps Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities and an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participation - Outcome 2: Children connected with and contribute to their world

17.01.2022 Today the Dancing Dolphins and the Jumping Jacks were lucky enough to be treated to a Science Incursion for Science Week! A team of talented people came to our centre to help Wattle Roaders learn and engage in different scientific experiences. Today we learnt about the different stages of matter, enjoyed planting our own seeds and creating our very own volcanoes! Some very exciting things indeed!

15.01.2022 A look back at last week.. Our Dancing Dolphins room worked on their sensory development and fine motor skills with a measuring, scooping and pouring activity. Lots of fun was had by all (including our fabulous clean up team )

04.01.2022 Our Peeping Possums class enjoyed their Yoga session this morning, with Miss Pia from Young Yogis! Young Yogis philosophy on Early Childhood Yoga is, "early childhood yoga programs are fun, fairly dynamic, creative and stimulating to the childs imagination. Simple breathing exercises and relaxation techniques are always included in order for the children to acquire the art of relaxing the body and learning how to be still and peaceful within themselves".
