25.01.2022 Coming to an English cricket field near you! Deposits now due.
24.01.2022 Wield the willow in the Old Dart CALLING all cricketers! An Australian team to tour England is looking for players. Twin brothers David and Steve Gemmill, from Cobram, are organising a cricket tour in July/August next year (2019) to tour England. Their late father, Graham Gemmill organised similar tours in the early 80s due to his similar passion for cricket. When Graham tragically died, late in 1986, the boys thought they should honor his ambition of touring with an Austr...alian side to the U.K. and play for the love of cricket. The brothers have already coordinated five tours of England since 2000 under the banner of The Australian Wattlesprigs, combining matches against village cricket clubs all over the British Isles. Its a unique type of tour, David Gemmill said. We play under Dads mottoFor the love of cricket... and also give country players a chance to fulfill their cricket dreams. We are all farmers, teachers, accountants, plumbers, etc, all playing together for a common cause..we just love cricket! The Wattlesprigs also play for their own Ashes urn against Shepperton C.C., Surrey, at the end of each tour. They hope to hold this urn aloft again in 2019. The Wattlesprigs will spend 25 days in England, playing 12 games of cricket, while watching the Ashes live at Edgbaston during the first Ashes test. For more info about joining the tour call 0439 721 149 / 0428590737 or [email protected] or Message us here See more
