24.01.2022 Plenty of tree planting going on at Wattlewood. These Melaleuca Ericifolia's will sucker and bush out to help provide a wind break for the cattle.

23.01.2022 Branded the bulls today at Wattlewood with the help of my mate Rachael Cochrane (thanks) in the newly installed (but not finished) squeeze crush. Preparations on track for the Stock & Land BEEF WEEK open day on the 31st January 2021

20.01.2022 Not the best photo (John was multi tasking..... long reining the colt and taking the photo all at once!!), but this is "Panda" getting the "first ride" on the colt, Karraba Park Natural Justice and been long reined around Wattlewood (I found hoof marks on my lawn John!!). This Australian Stock Horse is living up to the breeds reputation of a great temperment and unflappable nature.

19.01.2022 Big day with the cows and calves, Vaccinating, drenching and tattooing

18.01.2022 So, because we don’t have enough to do, we flushed three of our top cows today. A huge thank you to David Morris of Bass Valley Embryo Service- we averaged 11 ...eggs per cow. Our Sitz Upward cow joining sire was Matauri Reality, Ardrossan Equator A241 was joined to an EF Complement cow and female that was by a home bred Wattlewood bull, flushed well to Baldridge Beast Mode B074 Can’t wait to get them in some recipients!! See more

18.01.2022 Harowing the paddocks..... Now just waiting for a bit of rain to help the Autumn growth along!!

17.01.2022 A couple of the bulls had their first bath and went for a walk today. We are very excited to not only have our animals in the show ring again but also to catch up with our fellow competitors and cattle breeders. It is going to be a great couple of days

17.01.2022 You are now looking at Wattlewood River and Lake Wattlewood. Man we have had some rain

17.01.2022 Well, the current rain has got its benefits.... John said the ground is easier for digging with the excavator and he can see how the water flows

14.01.2022 It has been a long time (8 1/2 years) since I’ve had a nose ring in a Wattlewood bull. We are back....... bring on Lang Lang P, A & H Association Beef Cattle Spectacular in 2 weeks time!! Entries are available at https://showday.online//202acab3-b91d-4a3d-9d3c-97c71ae0f4

14.01.2022 Breaking in the weaners to lead. First time tied up and coping well. Wattlewood selects genetics not only for structure and performance, but also temprement- nobody likes being chased out of the yards!!

11.01.2022 The preparation is underway for our Beef Week Open Day on January 31st 2021. The yearling bulls are enjoying a bit of attention on a glorious sunny day.

09.01.2022 The herd also receive a copper, cobalt and selinium bolas to boost their levels that they may not get through normal grazing alone.

07.01.2022 Wattlewood is LIVE!!! Wattlewood has their website up and running. Check out www.wattlewoodstud.com.au Massive thanks to Teresa at TotaleSolutions for all your help!!

05.01.2022 A few fences going in at Wattlewood, including a laneway to another set of cattle yards and more tree plantations (which of course means more tree planting!!).

05.01.2022 Wattlewood chooses to 7in1 to help protect the animals against things like tetanus, black leg and pulpy kidney, as well as the handlers against leptospirosis. We also vaccinate against BVDV (Pestie Virus). These vaccinations are done annually to the whole herd, with the calves receiveing a booster 4 to 6 weeks after the initial injection.

03.01.2022 Ian Moreland graced us with his presence today and semen tested the "J" bulls that are for sale. These bulls are halter broken, have had their boosters for 7in1 & Pestieguard vaccinations, bolased with copper, colbolt and seliniumn. Now they also tick the box for fertility. If you are interested in a quality registered Angus bull (or 2, or 8), feel free to PM me or give me a call 0416 216 951.

03.01.2022 Wattlewood ASH & Angus have sponsored at "Chute" at the annual Lang Lang Rodeo which will be held on Easter Monday! http://www.langlang.net/rodeo.html

01.01.2022 Wattlewood Qantas isn’t phased by his new nose ring! Bath and a hair cut next!
