05.01.2022 As you are probably aware, following the Premier’s announcement this afternoon, we are once again going into Stage 4 lockdown in the state of Victoria, initially for a five-day period. We have decided that Waverley Bridge Club will be closed for F2F bridge for the whole week, February 15th to 19th. We must always proceed with caution as our members are in the most vulnerable age group and we cannot afford to take any risks at this stage. If you are currently booked to play i...n the sessions for next week and your partner does not have internet or email access, please let them know of the cancellation. The program for online bridge remains ongoing so please feel free to join any of the available sessions for your ‘bridge fix’ during the week. Maybe this might be the time for you to check out RealBridge on either Tuesday evening or Thursday afternoon. Masks have been mandatory at the club for the last two weeks but we are still finding members who fail to wear their masks correctly or believe that they can flout the rule due to medical conditions. If you feel incapable of complying with this condition of F2F play, please continue playing online until we can return to ‘face mask optional’ status. It is difficult for those of us monitoring COVID-19 safety to have to keep reminding players to wear their masks. Please keep safe as we, once again, do our best to defeat the current threat in Victoria. See more
