14.01.2022 To all our patient’s, we still have available face to face consults along with phone consults if required. We believe that our patients will always benefit far more from being able to visit their doctor in person, but should you feel that a phone consult is preferred then talk to our staff about discussing the options to suit your needs. If you have a minor issue and it can be resolved with a telephone consult, please feel free to utilise this service, otherwise, we prefer... to see you face to face. During the height of COVID-19, a lot of things were understandably put on hold by everyone. However, we are aware that we shouldn't be neglecting preventive health measures which is the cornerstone of health care. We are continuing to encourage our patients to be up to date with all their health needs as advised by their doctor. If you have received a reminder by the clinic, for your care plans, health assessments, immunisations or test results etc, call and make your appointment, as it is even more important to stay healthy now then ever before. Due to challenges presented by COVID-19, we've put in place numerous measures to keep our staff and patients safe as we see you face to face. We practice social distancing at all times The waiting room will only be for a limited amount of patients. For patient’s who present as ill, we ask you to stay in your car and when the doctor is ready to see you they will call you directly and bring you straight into the consultation room The consultation rooms are cleaned in between patients We have a cough/sneeze screen at the reception desk Ample hand santizer is provided for all patients The whole premises is cleaned regularly with hospital grade disinfectant If you have respiratory symptoms, please let us know and we will make arrangements to keep you separate from the other patients to keep you safe.
12.01.2022 GOVT SUPPLIED CLOTH FACE MASKS As of the 27th July 2020, the govt is supplying cloth face masks for the public. There are some catergories that need to be followed, these being patient/s with chronic disease such as heart disease, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, respiratory disease and many others. Although these patients will take priority, Waverley Medical Centre will investigate the option of selling the masks to our other patients should the govt approve at a low price. Keep in mind that when wearing a cloth face mask, they must be washed every day to avoid collecting bacteria. If you can get the option with the mask to insert filters or paper towels if easier this will help absorb moisture. Always consult with your doctor for further details this information is just the basics.

05.01.2022 Deborah Hutton has 'major surgery' to remove two skin cancers, urges Australians to get their skin check Deborah Hutton is on the mend after having surgery to remove two skin cancers. The TV presenter and media personality shared the news on Monday night in an Instagram post, urging everyday Australians to get their skin checked. "Have ummed and aahed about posting this but after having the stitches out from another major surgery to remove 2 skin cancers, and being extreme gr...ateful they've got it all, I feel it's only right to remind you to get your SKIN CHECKED," she wrote, captioning photos of the stitches in her face. Hutton, 58, said she saw no signs of the cancer. It was her dermatologist who noticed it first. "Please. Early detection is everything!! Don't delay. To look at the area around my nose prior to surgery, nothing was visible to the naked eye," she said. "Only my dermatologist flagged it months earlier... So don't stuff around with your health! My skin will heal and in the coming months you'll hardly see the scar."
