18.01.2022 Fielder's Choice (Mulgrave) were ram raided on January 9th about 10:30pm and had both Softball and Baseball products stolen including some that are sold exclusively by Fielder’s Choice. If anyone is offered cheap Softball or Baseball equipment please get as many details off the seller as possible. The matter is being investigated by Victoria Police. 09.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: MASSIVE congratulations extended to BLAKE TOWNSEND who on Thursday signed a contract with the Seattle Mariners. Blake signed the contract with Mariners’ Australian scout Tim Ballard pending passing a physical examination, which he will do over the next week in Phoenix.... It’s an outstanding achievement for Blake who came four seasons ago from the Traralgon Red Sox. All those who have watched Blake grow and develop as a player and a person will agree he has been rewarded for all the hard work, preparation, commitment and willingness to make himself the best he can be. Congratulations also to Nikki, Pete & Steph for their unswerving devotion, encouragement, support, commitment & the many, many hours travelling from Traralgon so Blake could realise his dream. And, kudos to all the coaches @ Waverley who have helped develop Blake into the position where he became the No 1 prospect in Australia. Way to go Blake - you are a credit to yourself, your family & everyone at Waverley who has played a part in your signing with the Mariners.

Following the overwhelming success of the four Junior clinics run at Napier Park last month, Allan De San Miguel is pleased to offer the opportunity to sign up for his Top Prospects clinics next month. These clinics are OPEN TO ALL JUNIORS THROUGHOUT THE STATE. The Top Prospects clinics will be run at Waverley Baseball Club, Napier Park on Monday, December 18, Tuesday December 19 & Wednesday, December 20.... Each session will run from 5.30pm until 8pm. It will include tuition from Alan De San Miguel as well as young professional players Jon Kennedy, Matt Beattie, Ryan Dale & Jarryd Dale. The clinics Cost for one clinic session is $60 while those wanting to go to all three sessions can book for $150. 07.01.2022 The Waverley Baseball Club is seeking Expressions of Interest for the position of Club Coach for the 2019/20 Victoria Baseball Summer League. The club is looking for an experienced coach with the passion, drive and experience to take charge of a talented and proven playing squad and bring the best out of them. The successful applicant, who could be either a playing or non-playing coach, will have the energy, leadership and communication skills required to realise our shared v...ision for on field success. The Club Coach will be accountable for : Heading the selection panel and weekly pregame team selections. Setting the strategy for all coaches and Senior team managers within the club. Coaching and Directing the Firsts team on game day. Planning, managing and delivering Senior training sessions. Providing support to the club’s junior program as required. Regular reporting to the club Board. The application process will be as follows: Please send an email to the Club Secretary expressing interest in the position. The email should detail your key coaching achievements, the knowledge, skills and values that you would bring to the position, and importantly your plan for the playing success of the Club. The expressions of interest will be assessed by the Coaching Appointment Sub-committee and a short list prepared. Short-listed applicants will be provided with a more detailed position description and will be invited to be interviewed by the Selection Sub-Committee. The Selection Sub-Committee will provide recommendations to the WBC Board for their consideration and decision. Remuneration for this position will be negotiated throughout the selection process. Waverley Baseball Club will hold Come & Try Days at its Napier Park headquarters - off High Street Road, Glen Waverley - on Sunday, September 8 & 15. It's open to anyone from T-Ballers to Juniors to Seniors to Women to our Masters. All the various time slots for the Juniors are listed in the Flyer below. 03.01.2022 ADAM BRIGHT APPOINTED WILDCATS' COACH ADAM Bright, a former Australian, Claxton Shied and professional player as well as a Baseball Victoria Coach of The Year, has been appointed as coach of the Waverley Baseball Club for the Summer season of 2019-20. Adam, who represented Australia for nine years and played seven years in the Colorado Rockies farm system, brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and leadership prowess to Waverley.... After representing his Country and State in multiple Junior teams, Adam was signed by Colorado Rockies where he spent seven years in their farm system. He reached ‘AA’ level and pitched in four Major League spring training games. Adam then spent one season playing for Tokyo Giants in the Japan League and another season playing professionally in Italy. When he wasn’t playing overseas, Adam pitched for Victoria in the Claxton Shield as well as the Melbourne Aces as well as representing Australia in three World Baseball Classics. After his playing days had finished, Adam made a successful transition to coaching. Adam spent four seasons as head coach of Blackburn Baseball Club and in the 2013-14 season was named the Baseball Victoria Coach of The Year. He was also the Victorian U16 pitching coach. During winter, Adam coaches Ringwood in the Melbourne Winter Baseball League and is currently in his seventh season as head coach. It’s an outstanding playing and coaching resume, one that has been forged on not only talent, but respect, a great work ethic and an ability to relate and communicate with the playing group of all ages. We welcome Adam to the Wildcats family and wish his all the success he deserves at Napier Park. Adam replaces Phil Dale, a club legend who has moved to Division 2 Club Malvern. The WBC would like to publicly acknowledge Phil for his magnificent contribution to the Club not only as a multiple premiership coach over the past 11 years, but also as a past President and long-serving Board member. Phil’s input to the WBC at all levels has been immeasurable. We wish Phil well in his future endeavours.
