23.01.2022 From time-to-time the WBC team ventures beyond our states borders to explore some special areas elsewhere in Australia, and beyond. Here are a couple of shots from our recent trip to Flinders Ranges, SA. Why not join us on our next journey?

19.01.2022 Hi There! Sick of lying around on the couch this winter? Want to feel ALIVE? There is nothing like a walk in the gorgeous winter sunshine, especially when the mood is enhanced by a little fog. Isn it cold? I hear you ask... No. You really dont feel it once you are walking. There is too much to see while enjoying the company of good friends. Want to be here? Why dont you join us?

18.01.2022 The Waverley Bushwalking Club supports equal access to our parks for commercial operators and community groups. We support the vision of "healthy parks, healthy people". We support a safety-first culture in Bushwalking, and we already have the programs and processes to minimise the risks. Why then, do we need to enforce community group compliance with a new Australian Adventure Activity Standard (AAAS), burdening ordinary community members with red tape, and clubs with sign...ificant costs, just to walk in our parks? Shouldnt we be encouraging groups to walk safely, stay healthy and enjoy our natural environment? For these reasons we support Bushwalking Victorias stance around the proposed new AAAS. We support the need to grant an exemption on compliance to community groups, or find a way to ease the burden and requirements on compliance. We support the need to ensure equal access to our parks for commercial operators and community groups. We encourage our members and the community to support the Bushwalking Victorias petition (see link in post below) to keep our parks open to all, and support your rights to enjoy the outdoors without more red tape. #JustEnjoyWalking #CutRedTape #ParksForEveryone #HealthyParksHeathlyPeople

17.01.2022 There is a new app available today from DEWLP/FFM to help us explore forests & parks in Victoria. This app also provides updates on roads and tracks. Follow the link for more information & to download the app.

15.01.2022 Thirty years ago today, the Waverley Bushwalking Club was officially established by our founders - a group of people who had the vision to share their passion for exploring the natural world with the community. Today we have 270 members who conduct over 200 events annually. And tonight, we celebrated this great milestone in style, and launched our new book - WBC 30 Walks. Congratulations and thanks everyone for a fantastic evening. Russell Lucas (President).

14.01.2022 We take safety seriously at the WBC. Thats why we invest in walk leadership and safety training. Today, a group of new (and near-new) leaders are heading out to do some training around beautiful Marysville. #wbc #WaverleyBushwalkers #marysville #WanderVictoria

12.01.2022 Dont you wish you were here on a gorgeous Autumn day? We were. You could join a walking club - better still, join us!

10.01.2022 Want to clear your head, feel alive and walk in safety around gorgeous forrest like this? Its as easy as connecting with your local bushwalking club. Better still, join us and #WanderVictoria. (Photo: Bunyip State Park).

07.01.2022 One of the rewarding aspects of club life is the opportunity to make a contribution to the wider community. Today our members worked with Parks Victoria to help restore the original Shelley Harris track at Kinglake NP. Sadly, the original track was destroyed in the Black Saturday bushfires. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of that infamous day, Parks Victoria are working to restore the original track and the WBC is honour to be lending a hand. It is a very special place. Many thanks to Parks Victoria for leading this effort, and for reaching out. #ParksVictoria #KinglakeNP. Taking shape amongst the mountain mist... will you be walking here soon?

06.01.2022 As part of our community program, the WBC supports Bushwalking Victorias Adopt-A-Track program. Yesterday a team went out to work on our adopted track at Kinglake National Park. It was a lot of fun in the scrub, we made a contribution to the community and there was a great sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. Bushwalking Victoria Parks Victoria

03.01.2022 One thing you will love about the Waverley Bushwalking Club is the great variety of walking that is on offer - you could be walking on beaches and cliffs along the coast or up in the high country above the tree line or immersed in the forests of the Dandenongs. No matter what you are walking through there will always be friendly chatter, photo opportunities and plenty of exercise. Come and join us.

02.01.2022 The WBC acknowledges and thanks the City of Monash Council for their ongoing support of clubs in our area, including ours, and for their support of programs that encourage mental and physical well-being through active lifestyles. #makingadifference #waverleybushwalkers

02.01.2022 Spring is coming! Woohoo!! Our members love getting out and about this time of year. Sure, some of the mornings can be chilly, but its nothing that a cosy hat and some gloves cant fix. The thing is, once you are walking, youll quickly warm up and before you know it, you will be peeling off the layers! Especially on days like the one below (a recent walk in Dandenongs). Just get out there!

01.01.2022 Ho Ho Ho! Guess who we found having a quick vacation near Mt. Baw Baw in Australia, just before the big rush? Hope everyone has a great festive season!
