23.01.2022 Subject: Waverley City Archers Corvid19 update Immediate club closure (07/07/20) Salutations to you all. As many of you are most likely aware the state government has reinstated the lockdown of the greater Melbourne Area and returned us to the Stage 3 Lockdown restrictions.... The committee has an obligation to follow the rules and regulations as defined by the State Government, Local Council and Our regional governing body, Archery Victoria. Please see the following link for information from the Department Of Human services. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//coronavirus/statement-premier To us the Members of Waverley City Archers the most important part of the document reads Community sport will need to stop The committee has been united from the beginning of this outbreak that the safety of our members will be placed first and foremost. To this end it has been decided that if there is a clear and present danger to Victorians that it is deemed a lockdown is required from midnight on the 8th of July, Then that danger exists right now. To this end the following actions have been taken.. The club is closed, effective immediately. The front door key has been removed from the lockbox to facilitate this action. Anyone whom has a key to the clubhouse (some coaches and committee members do) your authority to use this key is suspended until further notice. The only valid reason for attending the club will be to investigate after we have been advised of an alarm activation in the club house or container. The committee is aware of the impact that this decision will have on the mental health and wellbeing of the members and reminds the you all that you are not alone. The government has established counselling and support for people that are struggling during this time and if you feel the need, you should use them. Steve Lovatt On behalf of the committee. 23.01.2022 Final lockdown edition!

21.01.2022 Yep, it’s that time of the week. It’s getting closer to reopening. Check your inboxes for the latest update.

20.01.2022 Hi all, Bringing everyone up to date with the latest developments at Waverley City Archers regarding COVID-19 restrictions, and when we are likely to resume coaching. The club has reopened to current members under very strict conditions, however we feel we are still unable to offer coaching in a manner that is safe to the students, club members and coaches. We cannot say with any confidence when coaching activities may be able to resume.... Despite the above, we have been planning how we can process our backlog of students who are on our waiting list, including those who have prepaid. For archers who have partially completed a four week Beginners Course, the committee made the decision that, because it will be over three months since students have shot an arrow, all impacted students should recommence a full four weeks training. - Archers who have prepaid the course will not be required to pay any additional fees. - Archers who applied for and received a refund will be required to pay the full course fee. When coaching resumes, all archers who have prepaid their fees (Beginners Course and Come and Try) will be given first priority. We will offer a booking period where we will only accept bookings for prepaid archers. After the restricted booking period expires, we will advertise bookings to the remaining archers on the waiting list and the general public. We will email all archers on the waiting list when the committee makes the decision that it is safe to recommence coaching activities, including booking details. If you require any further information, feel free to contact me. Regards, Gavin Bond, Coaching Co-ordinator, Waverley City Archers. Phone (After Hours only, please) 0409272437

16.01.2022 Great news for club members. Based on the information given by Archery Victoria and the Victorian government, and with approval from the City of Monash, the club has been able to reopen for members only. However, strict rules apply, including the use of face masks. All members should have received an email from the club secretary outlining the rules that must be followed and the procedures for booking your practice session via Archers Diary. Please note that that the conditions under which the club can operate may change at anytime, so please continue to check your email inbox for future updates.

15.01.2022 Registrations via Archers Diary, for WCA members only practice sessions, are now open for Wednesday through to Friday this week. Registrations for the weekend sessions will open midday tomorrow (Wednesday). Please adhere to the limit of 16 archers (one per target), one session per archer per day, no more than a total of 20 people on site including archers/supporters/parent.
