15.01.2022 Learning our times using the Montessori clock activity. We teach children how to read analogue time starting with oclock then moving to half past and quarter to/past. Children enjoy working in pairs to put the numbers on the clock face and then move the hands around to make the different times. We also have paperwork that reinforces their learning. Montessori activities have a control of error that assist child to correct themselves if they have made a mistake. In this instance its seeing the progression of the number rods from shortest to longest. The rods are lined up so the red colour is always on the left hand side. This helps them see that odd numbers end is a red colour and even numbe...rs end in a blue colour.
