24.01.2022 CHRISTMAS RAFFLE The Waverley Primary School Association are busily working on the 2020 Community Carols event being held in November. As part of our fundraising activities we are again holding our Monster Christmas Raffle, which last year saw 34 prizes donated! We are seeking donations from local businesses or individuals that may be able to provide goods, vouchers or services that we could include as raffle prizes.... If you, or someone you know are able to support our School and Community, please contact the School Office on 6339 1455 or comment here and we will contact you. 24.01.2022 Pre-Kinder is on again tomorrow at 9am in the Early Years room. Part of our fine motor practise is getting ready to hold and cut with scissors. Ask your Pre-Kinder child what they think we might be doing tomorrow... We look forward to seeing you all in the morning

23.01.2022 YMCA Incursion - Tomorrow, Tuesday 15th December Last year, classes enjoyed a Splash and Fun day at the Glen Dhu pool as an end of year celebration. Unfortunately, due to maintenance work, the pool is unavailable this year. We will instead have a school incursion, with the YMCA visiting and bringing equipment to provide a variety of activities. A sausage in bread will also be provided for those students who would like one.

Good morning K-2 families, Spaces are filling up fast for the WWVP card morning so if you were thinking about getting one please return your slip to the office or contact me and I will save a spot for you. 20.01.2022 Working with Vulnerable People Card Dear families and community members, please note that as part of the Department of Education policy it is required that upon visiting the school for volunteering, meetings etc we are required to sight your Working with Vulnerable People card to be verified on the Department of Justice website. Should you not have your card with you to be checked we are unfortunately not permitted to allow you onsite. We thank you for your cooperation in this process.

19.01.2022 Grade 1/2 Watson have been creating sculptures inspired by Alexander Calder in Visual Art. They focussed on using primary colours and basic shapes. Dont they look amazing?

17.01.2022 FATHERS DAY STALL Thank you to all families who supported the School Association Fathers Day Stall today. We had a wonderful selection of gifts and students loved the challenge of picking just the right gift for Dad, Step-Dad or Granddad. For those students who were absent today or forgot their money, items will still be available for purchase after school today or tomorrow morning.

16.01.2022 A REMINDER to families that tomorrow is our Footy Colours and Run Day. Students are invited to wear their favourite teams colours and are asked to bring a gold coin donation. Student may may wear a jumper, scarf, socks or beanie. Students are asked to wear these over their sports uniform. In the afternoon, weather permitting, students from grades 3-6 will participate in a run within the boundaries of the school. At lunchtime our school leaders will be selling icypoles ($1) and icecreams ($1.50). Thank you for your support.

12.01.2022 Yesterday Prep/1 Brown went on excursion to Trowunna Wildlife Park. Everyone had a wonderful day and learned so much.

12.01.2022 Little Steps families, Unfortunately the planned excursion to City Park tomorrow is cancelled as Mrs Foley is unwell. There will be no Little Steps playgroup in its place. Please come along next Thursday to our last session before the holidays.

12.01.2022 Spring was definitely in the air this morning. The sun was shining, which meant our busy Pre-Kinder students were busily learning in our outdoor space. We also had some creativity inside where the children were making some Spring flowers using lots of loose parts. Have a look at all our creations!

09.01.2022 FATHERS DAY STALL A reminder that our Fathers Day Stall will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 2nd September, in the library. Students are invited to bring along some money to purchase a gift for their father, grandfather, uncle or father figure in their lives. Students will visit the stall with their class. Students will have the opportunity to purchase something on Thursday should they be absent tomorrow or forget their money.

We have been very lucky to receive generous support from a number of local businesses and today we would like to thank Bunnings Kings Meadows for donating part of our 1st Prize, a Sherlock Wheelbarrow.

06.01.2022 Little Steps Excursion to City Park Launceston Thursday the 17th of September 2020 Dear Families, Little Steps will be going on an excursion to City Park. We will be playing in the playground, watching the monkeys and exploring the parks trees and natural features. Timeline: ... We will leave the school carpark on the school bus as close to 9am as we can. Families that walk /do not drive are given first preference to hop on the bus. Feel free to come and see if theres room on the bus first Families are welcome to meet us at the playground at City Park about 9.20am if you are coming in your own car We will provide morning tea for the adults Families are to bring your own childs morning tea, drink, sun hat and change of clothes, gumboots etc We will leave City Park at approximately 11.00am and return to school We will be going on the excursion even if the weather is overcast or a bit cold We will text or post any changes on our Facebook site Hope to see you all there! 05.01.2022 CAN DRIVE A reminder to all that Monday is the last day for donations to the Can Drive. Any can or non perishable item will be appreciated.

04.01.2022 Recess sales is on today and we will have all the favourites, sushi, pizzas, muffins, fruit cups, gozlemes and more! We will also have cold banana smoothies great on a hot day. A snack and a smoothie is $3. Thanks everyone for all their support this year. This is a student run program and they love it.

04.01.2022 From making faces with the play foam to learning about the alphabet with our alphabet soup game, our Pre-Kinder students have been busy today. I am especially proud of how well they joined in with mat time. These little learners are getting ready for Kinder next year! If you have a child that is 4 or turning 4 this year bring them along- they will love it!

04.01.2022 Great artistic skills are evident in Mr Wheelers Visual Art class. They have been inspired by early colonial life and have worked hard in creating a rustic, earthy look including a foreground, background and horizon. I am impressed with the level of detail.
