25.01.2022 To All Members of Waves Netball, With BNA releasing the news yesterday of the cancellation of the rest of the 2020 season I know we have many very disappointed players, including myself. I really want to stress again that this decision was an extremely difficult one for everyone involved and it was not made lightly. REFUND INFORMATION... BNA and the clubs are working together to return players fees back to them. This is going to take a little time so I am asking everyone to be patient, while we work through the details. Both BNA and Waves Netball will be refunding fees already paid. As soon as we have details around this refund, the information will be emailed to you all. All Waves players playing in the Spring Cup Competition please be advised that BNA now require you to sign in (either using QR code or sign in register). This is needed as some club teams are not all putting player names on scoresheet so it makes contact tracing hard if it is needed. Thanks

16.01.2022 I know our Waves netball family will be disappointed in this news but rest assured we will be back stronger next year. At our next committee meeting we will discuss when we as a club may be able to start running some fitness and skills session to get us ready for the 2021 season. Information will be sent out to all families soon about how to claim a refund. Be patient and we will gets this information to you in the next week or two. Just be aware that this discussion was a very difficult one for all involved and many options discussed but in the end this was the decision made by BNA and executive committees of all clubs.

12.01.2022 SPRING CUP STARTS THIS SATURDAY! BNA’s Spring Cup competition has been created as an opportunity to get players back out on the court playing netball. Spring Cup is a different competition, it is more about participation and enjoying netball. New features to this comp are having rolling substitutions and the last 2 mins of each quarter will see the 2 point super shot. Please be aware that due to Covid-19 restrictions spectators are limited to 2 per player. TEAMS... BNA's Spring Cup organisation is different to their regular competition, it will not have our standard divisions as divisions are combined to create Pools. Due to this most of the teams we had for 2020 have been restructured to create a mix of ages and abilities, for example division 1 & 2 teams have been mixed up and placed into a pool. For junior teams you will have a coach that will look after you each week and it will be up to that coach and team if they want to do some training. Teams will be emailed through early this week so that you know who is in you team and what your new team name is. Team names for this competition are sea themed. As soon as BNA releases this weeks draw we will post it on our Facebook page so you know what time your game is this Saturday.

10.01.2022 BNA are seeking interest from players who might be interested in playing in a 10 week Spring Cup Competition between now and the end of the year. They have not set a start date at this stage as they are first seeking interested. Our club coaches are in the process of contacting their players via chat groups around interest so please let your club coach know your interest if you haven’t already done so. BNA may even look at doing something for the SET and GO. So Set and Go par...ents if your daughter would be interested can you please let the club know as soon as possible. Posting here is fine or by email or phone. As Netball QLD didn’t offer refunds earlier in the year your registration with them is valid until the end of this year so cost for Spring Cup would only be a small fee to cover BNA running costs. It would great to see as many of our Waves girls back out on the netball court.

In particular, we would like to thank our Waves members who have volunteered. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Some members gave up to 12 hours of their own time and in some cases it was their partners that stepped up to help. We also wish to thank those members that helped out when the rostered members were unable to fulfill their duty. Without volunteers we wouldn't get to play/watch the game we love!!!
