15.01.2022 UPDATE: The three people are safe and ashore after being picked up by a passing boat. The crew of Port Stephens 30 continued to the scene to provide any assista...nce necessary. EARLIER: A morning training session for two crews from Marine Rescue Port Stephens has rapidly changed to an emergency operation. A boat has sunk off the Winda Woppa boat ramp, on the Myall River, with three people in the water. The crews of rescue vessels Port Stephens 31 and Port Stephens 30, who were on the water training, are making best speed to the scene.
