25.01.2022 While many slot cars are bought ready to race, some are built by the owners. This weeks car of the week is this classic Holden Monaro raced by Phil at Big Kids racing on Wednesday night. The body is a resin body by Australian company Outlaw Resin and Custom Slots and the chassis and wheels are by another Australian company MJK. If you are inspired to get building, come on in to Way2Fast and we can fit you out with all the parts you need.
25.01.2022 Some action from last Saturdays day/night enduro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMEDv5_S9VQ
25.01.2022 Right!!! Lets try this again. Last Saturdays 4 hour day/night enduro was a great success even though I stuffed up a couple of things. Thanks to Shane and Dave here are the results and race report. Race Report There was a really impressive turn-out to the enduro with eight teams on the starting grid. It was great to see some old friends back on track and in the paddock. With eight cars on the road there was plenty of action. There was always someone to race against and the... marshals were kept busy, especially in the night. As is always the case with endurance racing, there were a load of mechanical problems, with Wombats, Team Ford, Flooded and Gulf Racing all having to spend time in the pits. In fact Team Ford ended up not actually driving a Ford, just to get their team back on the road. These difficulties gave a clear run to Nicks Scaley Mercedes which continued its excellent form from Wednesday night to take the top step of the podium. Thanks to Steve for cooking the snags and hosting the race and thanks to everyone who came along to make it a great event. See more
24.01.2022 6 new cars from scalextric have arrived and are now available for you to add to your collection. Come down and check them and all the other cars available.
23.01.2022 Another Wednesday night of racing and banter with the results and report showing theres not much in it. Race Report Its great to have so many new drivers on the track on Wednesday nights these days. Its awesome to share the hobby and it would be boring with the same old (ugly) faces each week. It does mean though that we see more mayhem on the track as the newbies improve their driving skills and old hands forget theirs. Last night on the rally track was like driving thro...ugh an asteroid field with cars zinging off everywhere. The track was scattered with debris (pronounced deb-ris) as mirrors, bumpers and roo bars disintegrated. Ah well, we were all there once and its all part of racing. Things settled down a bit in Touring cars, and by the start of the fourth heat Richard was ten laps ahead. His merciless dad and some other old guys soon caught him up though and there was some spirited racing. One of the more epic battles was between Steve and Stretch driving identical Camaros. Steve slowly reeled Stretch in to beat him by a nose on the final lap. Classic Le Mans was another good fight. Dave showed that its possible to hold your breath for two minutes, turning the same colour as his Ferrari in the process. Stretch was trying out an impressive looking (not red) Ferrari and Jason S and Nathan both had car troubles. In the end it was a close race with the top five all within about two laps. Another great night with lots of talk about the upcoming 8 hour Bathurst enduro - that doesnt sound like fun at all. See more
23.01.2022 Another week, another CAR OF THE WEEK thanks to Dave T. With the 88th running of the Le Mans 24 hours coming up, its only right that we have a Le Mans winner as car of the week. This Audi R18 e-tron quattro won the 2013 edition of the great race and gave Tom Kristensen his ninth victory at Le Mans. This model is made by the Italian company Slot.it, one of the handful of companies that make slot cars for competitive racing. Jason S used this car on Wednesday night to secure the third step of the podium in the podded class.
22.01.2022 With spring weather in the air, lets get Wednesday Night Big Kids Racing this week started with Group A. Racing starts at 7ish and Im sure itll be another eventful, entertaining and enjoyable (for most) night. Remember theres NO FUN ALLOWED!!

Registrations/ notification of intent to attend will be required. Youll need to be on the ball and let us know early so you dont miss out. Get in touch and/or tell your friends and stay tuned for more news.
21.01.2022 We at Way2Fast wished the managing director of JRK Racing a happy birthday last night. Hope you had a good day and no fun last night Jason. Cheers from all your fellow racers.
19.01.2022 This weeks car of the week is this stunning Proton Competition 911 RSR Porsche. The real car came fourth in the AM class at Le Mans in 2018, being driven for the German customer team by three American drivers. The RSR is unique in being the only 911 with the engine in front of the rear axle, making it effectively a mid-engine car. The slot car is made in 1/32 scale by Carrera and this one was raced by Todd, Nathan and Steve at our recent mini Enduro.
19.01.2022 Wednesday Night Big Kids Racing this week is the last for the year. Group D will be raced but not as usual, so bring your Carrera 1/24’s, Classic F1’s and Group 5/silhouette. Racing commences at 7ish with other events throughout the night.
18.01.2022 Second stage of our 4 hour day/night enduro is under way
16.01.2022 This weeks car of the week is Shanes stylish looking Mercedes AMG SLS. The real car was raced in the 2011 European GT3 championship is 2011 by the Czech Gravity Charouz team. The model is by the Spanish company SCX, often known as the Spanish Scalextric. The slot car has the more modern RK-42 motor, replacing the RX 42B as the SCX motor of choice.

16.01.2022 Wednesday Night Big Kids Race Report for 9/9/20 We had up to fifteen racers last night, so it was a busy night and the countdown timer was put on to keep the momentum going. Justin took firm control of proceedings from his specially marked Chief Steward chair. That level of authority didnt stop him getting yelled at by at least one driver who felt he was unfairly rushed onto the starting line. In the Supercars/Nascars class there was the kind of battle you only see in slot c...ar racing where Craig Lowndes was battling Dale Earnhardt. While Justin was a responsible Chief Steward, he was totally irresponsible once he pulled his helmet on. In Supercars he had a ding dong battle with Richard but then took the sweet, defenceless child out on one of the corners. This prompted some discussion about whether a calculating and clinical racer like Richard counted as a child and then who the real children were. It was great to have Rusty Shadow come back for a visit. In typical Michael fashion he showed up at the start line of Modern GT in a Dukes of Hazzard police car, at least he didnt beat us all with it this time. Jason came to the same race with his stunning looking new Wynns Ford GT. He blew away the opposition but he also blew his rear wing off too. This led to a comment from the Chief Steward that Jason was now just racing on a prayer. Boom. Tish. Dave P showed up for a bit to talk cars. He even marshalled for a while, which is more than can be said for some of the guys actually driving in the race. Fun? nah, too busy catching up with people. See more
16.01.2022 Now onto the serious side of racing from last night. It would appear that there are many sides to owning a shop. Who would have thought you could enjoy yourself while working lol Race report You never quite know which Steve youll get on Wednesday night at Way2Fast. Sometimes its shop owner Steve attending to customers, sometimes its granddad Steve taking care of Summer and sometimes its BBQ Steve flipping the snags. But last night it was just racing Steve. With his mind o...n one task, the shopownah dominated on the track. We had the usual silliness from the other punters. In classic touring we had three heat restarts. First when Justins car wouldnt go off the start line, second when Dave plugged in to the wrong lane and third when Jason decided that his car wasnt fast enough. You can decide for yourself whether these are fair dinkum excuses or not. Jason wasnt just having car woes on the first lap, he was on the search for a fast touring car all night. In the end he settled on Nicks Camaro as his steed of choice. Thats a big call for a rusted on Ford fan like Jason, maybe hes seen the light? It wasnt a fun night (not allowed) but it was very pleasant with a slightly smaller crowd than usual, good company, close racing and everyone marshalling. Looking forward to the modern GT enduro. 15.01.2022 Another story about our car of the week. Car of the Week: Ford-Cosworth Tyrrell Chassis 001 & 003 Driven by Sir Jackie Stewart During the 1970 F1 season the Tyrrell Racing Team commissioned Special Project 001, shown here carrying the number 11. With its distinctive Hammerhead nose section the car made its debut late in the 1970 season. The 001 proved to be fast with Stewart achieving pole position at the 1970 Canadian GP, but it failed to finish in the final three races o...f the season. Stewarts last outing in 001 was the first race of 1971 in South Africa where, after starting on pole, he finished 2nd to Mario Andretti. Between the 1970/71 seasons Tyrrell redesigned a number of components including the air box, front wing section and a longer monocoque becoming chassis 002 and 003. Stewart transitioned to the new car from the second race in 1971, winning its first outing at the Spanish GP. Exclusively driving 003 throughout the 1971 and 1972 season, he secured 8 wins from 16 starts and 6 pole positions. Tyrrell secured its only Constructors Championship in 1971 and Stewart won his 2nd of three World Championships. Chassis 003 shown carrying the number 1 is how the car would have looked ready to start the 1972 season. These two models were raced by Chris and Jason S in the Classic F1 class on Wednesday night. Thanks to Chris for providing the history. See more
13.01.2022 Car of the week from Wednesday night OK so this Revoslot Dodge Viper of Nicks is lightning quick, but doesnt it look great too? Its amazing how realistic modern slot cars look.
12.01.2022 Well!! Here are the results and report from last nights racing. Once again its an interesting and amusing read. Thanks to all who attended and made for another good night of racing WAY2FAST. Race Report We started a qualifying race on the party track with the shop magnet cars. That was predictably crazy with cars going every which way and active marshalling was required. The one minute heats meant any crash made it hard to recover position. Suddenly, one of the cars brok...e down so there were cries of, Shopownah, shopownah (is that the correct spelling?) to get Steve trackside to effect repairs. There might have been some sandbagging but it was a waste of time because starting in that race had automatically qualified drivers to participate in the enduro in teams decided by the shop owner. Steves team choices turned out to be pretty fair. The enduro got underway in predicable fashion. Richard and Nick shot into the lead driving a hyper tuned Mercedes. Nathan and Todd had heaps of pace with their magnet car but no consistency whereas Phil and Dave had loads of consistency but no pace. Stretch and Leigh had a very fast car but had some mechanical issues. Despite having softs on Justin and Jason couldnt catch them. Jason would have won too, but he got distracted by the light reflecting off Steves head - apparently. Paul and Alvaro were teamed with Jimmy but Alvaro left half way through the race leaving Paul and Jimmy to take it to the finish. A highlight was when Steve took over the magnet Porsche to get Todd and Nathan up the order and we got a demonstration of how to break a lap record. It looked fun but it obviously wasnt, coz its not allowed. All up, the race was good preparation for the upcoming four hour day night modern GT enduro on 15 August. See more
12.01.2022 The first Wednesday night big kids racing has been run for the year. Here are the results and report thanks to Dave T. Without any messing around racing for 2021 got underway on the party track with the rally class. It was soon declared the most boring start to a racing year with only one crash in the first heat. Murph wasn’t going to stand for that and made it his mission to bring the excitement back with a few dramatic shunts. It was a night of mechanical problems across ...all classes. Alvaro had braid problems with his rally car (luckily he happened to have an even faster car in his pocket), Jason’s touring car broke down and Stretch’s had what sounded like pinion problems with an otherwise very fast Le Mans car. Justin and Jason complained to the stewards about Dave’s distracting Peter Garrett racing style which resulted in threats of a headbutt. In classic Le Mans Dave P broke the number one rule of teams racing, never beat the car owner, when he took Paul K’s rocket for a heat and posted a better time in yellow. Richard had a good night racing and won a few heats although there was a debate about whether the BMW M1 Procar raced at Le Mans. This debate should probably continue in the comments as the jury is out this one. Everyone is looking forward to the first of the new classes next week modern F1 See more

11.01.2022 Wednesday Night Big Kids Racing this week is Group B. Firstly will be V8/NASCARs, followed by Modern GT and last are the flying podded cars. Racing will start at 7ish as usual. Friends, visitors and new racers always welcome.
10.01.2022 Wednesday Night Big Kids Racing this week is Group C. Well start out back with control class scalextric LMPs, then into the warmer main track for Carrera GT3/DTMs and Revo Slot. As usual racing commences at 7ish with visitors, new racers and spectators welcome. We are also open for general hire during this time. Come on down but remember theres NO FUN ALLOWED
10.01.2022 Race results and report for the big kids on Wednesday. Race Report As the appointed race time came and went and we all looked out the window for more racers to arrive, the six starters got the night underway for three self-marshalling races. It could be argued that it wasn't the best driver who won the races but the fastest runners on this night, although not coming off at all helped a lot. There were plenty of offs which brought other drivers undone and which gave Bradbury... heat wins to some surprised drivers. In the end Jason K took Carrera !:24s, Stretch took BRMs and Brad took Group 5s so a reasonable spread of wins and podium places for the punters. The biggest surprise of the night may have been for Steve when paying customers arrived for some track time. The young lad who brought his girlfriend for her birthday outing showed how thoughtful guys really can be - what a champion. See more
09.01.2022 Its on again!! Wednesday Night Big Kids Racing this week is Group A. Rally cars will be first up out on the icy party track, then well move into the warm on the big grey track with Classic Touring/Muscle cars followed by the beautiful classic Le Mann. Racing will commence at 7ish with visitors, new racers and track hire always welcome.
08.01.2022 Wednesday Night Racing Results and report for last night is an interesting read as usual and with thanks to Shane and Dave. Race Report It was quite an eventful night at Way2Fast. It was great to add Les to the usual suspects, clearly another motor racing tragic, so hes in good company. Celebrating Jason Ks birthday was a highlight. Thanks for the cake Steve. Jason is one of the true characters of Wednesday night racing and it was great to celebrate with him. Everyone was ...nice to Jason for his birthday, but things will be back to normal next week. There was some great racing too. Justin won the Carrera 1/24 class again. Is that the third week in a row? He has become a bit of a racing success story lately and we know why. Move over Ross Brawn, Norbert Singer and Harry Firth Justin, Justin been able to come up with a ground breaking tuning technique that gives him a real advantage. In a Race Report exclusive we are able to reveal what his secret is. Oil. Hes worked out that oiling bearings is good for them. Better keep that on the QT Justin otherwise everyone will start doing it. There were no team orders at Tyrell as Chris and Jason S battled it out in Classic F1. The tradition of open wheel touring car racing continued in Group 5 with Chris losing half his front bodywork and having some great battles with Dave. Nick wasnt there last night, which is unfortunate as he missed the first night of the new points system and is now behind everyone else. Well explain the rules of this next week Nick, its a local Australian thing called the furphy system. See more
08.01.2022 Wednesday Night Big Kids Racing Group C is back again tomorrow. The 2 races in 1 Control Scalextric LMP cars on the party track is first. Racing starts at 7ish and will continue until pizza arrives and then continues till the end of the crazy racing and banter. Hope to see you all including visitors, spectators, new racers and general hirers.

06.01.2022 CAR OF THE WEEK This Ferrari GTO is a model of the car that was reported in 2018 as the most expensive car ever, valued at around $99 million Aus dollars. Aside from being a beautiful example of one of the worlds most iconic sportscars, the car had impressive racing history including second in class at Le Mans and overall victory in the Tour of France in 1964 driven by Bianchi and Berger. The FLY slot cars model is on sale at Way2Fast for a shade less than $99 million.
05.01.2022 Wednesday Night Big Kids Racing this week is Group D. Well start with power turner up for Carrera 1/24, then well turn the power right down for Classic F1s. Hopefully this week Ill remember to turn the power back up to normal for the fast Group 5/silhouette cars. Racing starts at 7ish as usual and anyone is welcome to join in or just watch.
04.01.2022 Results and report from last nights racing and banter. We have a tally from Carrera 1/24 results for the year but there has been a challenge of the results, hence the stewards and shopowner are doing a count back and the final results will be announced at the awards night next month. Race Report When the Carrera 1/24 cars come out we’re always hopeful that Justin will show the form that led us to call this ‘his’ class. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be last night be as his car ...(like some of the drivers) had too much chatter to be really quick. Overtuning was one diagnosis. Stretch also had car problems with tyres coming off the rim which allowed Shane and Dave to take the lead with new smaller resistors installed to detune their Porsche GT1’s just enough. Some of the most entertaining racing was between Steve and Richard. As usual Richard was flat out, elbows out and as usual Steve was making the most of his experience to get the best out of a slower car. The last classic F1 race got interesting when Stretch, who normally wins by many laps, had some problems with his car. Nick was looking like a contender but managed to crash a few more times than he should have. It was left to Dave to try and challenge Stretch with slower but more consistent laps but in the end Stretch was on top as usual. Justin was trying to focus but he’s mainly relieved to see the end of that class. Speaking of which we had a taste of things to come when between races Nick, Chris and Stretch got out their NSR F1’s for the free practice session. They looked great and Stretch was lapping consistent 6.0. There’s the benchmark fellas. Group 5 seemed tame by comparison although there was lots of close racing and a photo finish with Dave and Stretch finishing 0.01 of a lap apart. See more
04.01.2022 Results and report from last nights racing shows that shopowner has raised the bar lol Race Report Every now and then you get one of those heats where everyone on the track has a chance of winning. At one stage in Revoslots last night Steve, Phil, Dave and Nick were going round and round lap after lap with nothing between them. It was the definition of close racing. Nick, who was battling with yellow lane, eventually blinked, and it was Steve who won the heat and the race, bu...t it was great to watch while it lasted. This was vastly different to the Scalextric LMP cars on the Party track at the start of the night. That seemed to be about the haves and the have nots, with some guys able to control the cars and others all over the place. It was very busy marshalling, with several cars ending up on the floor. Stretch and Phil were the haves and cruised to victory by a huge margin. The race was marred by Justins sudden departure to attend to a family emergency (we hope everything is ok there Justin). A highlight of the night was Shanes half time slide show, which resembled a psychologists session as he grilled Jason on his love all things Ford, including Harrison Ford and Ford pills. Thankfully Daves tattoo wasnt part of it. Jason said he would have got all the questions right but Richards head got in the way and the marshals werent fast enoughetc Thanks for the quiz Shane, we look forward to the next episode. See more
03.01.2022 A bit late but still looks great
02.01.2022 Another Wednesday night racing run and done. Now its time to read the results and report. Race Report An impressive thirteen racers showed up last night. This was lucky for some and it required more shouting than usual to get through all the heats before midnight.... One of the main excitements was the change to the start sequence. The delay between the last red light going out and go was set to variable, and could be anywhere as long as five seconds. This meant a lot of broken starts, frayed nerves and worn clutches waiting for the light to change. Some of the usual high standard of marshalling was absent last night. Nick tried to push a car into the slot backwards and Dave P accidentally gave Jason some politically incorrect encouragement to put his car back in the correct lane. Even Dave T wasnt on his marshalling game, making both his two errors for the year last night. Now, everyone knows the number one rule of motorsport is to never take out your team mate. Well in the V8 supercars, both Tickford racing divers came off the starting grid together, heading for the Way2Fast equivalent of hell corner, and only one of them came out the other side. There was some animated discussion in the team garage after that race. Hopefully we see a bit more teamwork at the enduro this weekend. It looks like there is going to be a big turn out with lots of teams vying for the day/night title. There is going to be a blistering pace too, with some very fast cars on display last night. Nick has an absolute rocket, Chriss Ford is very quick, Shane has a new car and Dave P and Alvaro are always fast. Just to name a few. Paul K wasnt there last night and that makes me think he was at home welding an SCX body to a ScaleAuto chassis, with a Slot.it motor and NSR tyres just for the enduro. We might also see the return of Stretch and maybe Damo too. Who knows. What we do know is that it will be.enjoyable.
01.01.2022 SUNDAY MORNING FAMILY RACING is returning to the shop.
