09.01.2022 WHY DOGS LIVE LESS THAN HUMAN Heres the surprising answer of a 6 year old child. Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfho...und named Belker. The dogs owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldnt do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience. The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belkers family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belkers transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belkers Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that dogs lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, I know why. Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. Id never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live. He said, People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? The six-year-old continued, Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they dont have to stay for as long as we do. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like: When your loved ones come home, always run to greet them. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy. Take naps. Stretch before rising. Run, romp, and play daily. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree. When youre happy, dance around and wag your entire body. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. Be faithful. Never pretend to be something youre not. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently. Thats the secret of happiness that we can learn from a good dog.

09.01.2022 Corona Viable - the play A project I have been planning for a SHORT time is a play based on the current times we live in. I have eight main characters, and the situation is in a low care aged centre attached to a residential community complex. The main characters are Matron, Gerald (a patient with mental health condition), Maude (a patient with physical conditions) Sonya (a patient on short term respite), Eddie (janitor come orderly), Agnes (partner to Charles), Charles (retu...rned from trip overseas with his wife) and Patricia (also returned from a trip around the country visiting family and friends) Your mission, if you decide to accept it, is to create a scene inside the common room where some, or all these characters meet and converse and act out their survival story. If this project is successful, I will acknowledge all contributors in the final draft script ahead of publishing it for theatre. Project Aim to complete the script for Corona Viable - the play by August 30 2020. Please help me ... No animals are to be hurt or killed in the making of this play! All rights will be held with the original playwright Wayne Lentsment

04.01.2022 Well! What a day it was in Ararat at the OPD day for Celebrants in the South West of Victoria. Our presenter, Sarah Aird, was thoroughly engaging and informative on almost every aspect of the delivery topics, and also encouraging and supportive of our rural and regional issues for celebrants and clients. The biggest point I took home is that celebrancy is a unique and personal service, that has no equal as far as giving the client a special and individual treatment in respect... to their most emotional event in their lives. This goes for marriages and funerals. I am pleased to have entered into this profession and look forward very much to meeting new friends and helping them plan and prepare and present at their inspirational event. Blessings to all!
