23.01.2022 Great night last night Perth Muso's club , met up with a lot off old friends , great music led by Al Pithers , Brenton Fosdike , Kelly Green so many performed and Aaron Wooley Ray Van Ross and Brian Hayton were great, too many to name good Job Simmo .

20.01.2022 Just watching Sunrise on chanel 7 and a good local singer Samantha Jade is on singing a track of her new Xmas Cd, she is very good , and it was a great performance , she sang "White Xmas" there are so many Xmas Cds released every year , but it seems to me they (The Artists) sing and record the same songs , I think it would be great hearing something new (Songs) at Xmas , but Samantha was great , Just saying .

11.01.2022 I heard That Jim Weatherly has passed away , sad news for me I am a fan , Weatherly wrote songs for almost 50 years. His best-known song is "Midnight Train to Georgia", recorded by Gladys Knight & the Pips. It peaked at number 1 on the pop and R&B charts, and went on to win a Grammy Award. The song was subsequently inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999, and was chosen by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Recording Industry Association of America as No. 29 of... the 365 Songs of the Century.[3] Ray Price has recorded 38 of Weatherly's songs. Both Gladys Knight & the Pips (in 1972) and Bob Luman (in 1973) had top five records with "Neither One of Us".[4] Other artists who have recorded Weatherly's songs include: Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, Asha Puthli, Neil Diamond, Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks.[4] Gladys Knight and the Pips have recorded twelve other Weatherly compositions, such as "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)" and "Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me". That version of "Neither One of Us" became his first number one pop record in Cashbox and Record World magazine charts, and became a number one R&B record. 09.01.2022 Roger Miller is my "Hero" I first discovered Roger around 1964 , I first met him in Sydney at the Chevron Hilton Hotel in Kings Cross in the late 60s, and again in the mid 70s in Reno Nevada at Johnny Ascuarga's Nuggett Casino , our meeting was arranged by his then Manager Dann Moss, a lawyer who , at the time was married to singer Vicki Carr , ( "He's a rebel") thanks to Dann he arranged for me to go backstage and meet and spend time with Roger, we even had a "Little " jam s...ession at the time with Roger on Fiddle , it was a special time for me , a funny aside to our meeting was the opening act that night was a Comedian /Banjo Player called Steve Martin , who later on became an Actor , ( Yes The Same One) he seemed to want to join us , but it was about me and Roger so he wandered off , also the Piano player that night in Roger's band was Micheal Smotherman who I have come to know , Micheal is a great singer /musician and very successful Songwriter , and also comes from Erick Oklahoma , as the years went by I was lucky to be contacted by Wendell Miller ,Roger's brother , so i went to the U.S.A. to meet Wendell and Duane Miller the third of the three Miller brothers, with there help I wrote a book about the three of them called "Three Little Boys " . When I first met Roger I had a guitar strap made for him and gave it to him at our fist meeting in Sydney (Kings Cross) to my surprise when I visited Erick Oklahoma for the first time I saw my "Strap in the Roger Miller Museum , I have one the same with my name on it .It is Xmas 2018 and if you would like to hear a great Xmas Song , Roger wrote a special song for his son Dean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kwQGWXOkjM Take a Listen and Merry Xmas all.

05.01.2022 Very happy this morning , Through my mate Brenton "Foz " Fosdike I have got to know a great guy , a Perth Jockey,his Name is Shaun O'Donnell, Last year Shaun had a "Barrier " accident and was sidelined for some time , he has made a successful comeback , and is a great Jockey, I follow his every ride , I don't Bet on the Horses , Only "Melbourne Cup",and my interest in Horse Racing goes back to 1958 , when I was an Apprentice Jockey at Roseberry in Sydney , But that is another story I will write , However this is about Shaun O'Donnell, and yesterday Shaun Rode Paddy's Shadow to Victory , in the Bunbury Cup , another great Ride , and Shaun has won this event four times now,2005,2011and 2014, my congratulation Mate , well done once again , Foz and I will catch up soon . all the best today as well .
