07.01.2022 Hearing that the agreement between Xbox and Zenimax has been made official i can't help but think its to good to be true for xbox. What does this means for the competiton between the two consoles? I have two theory's of how this will play out.... Microsoft could lock it down and all future flagship releases could now be microsoft exclusive, this isn't much different from what Playstion is doing. seeing as how both platform's games studios are gobbling up all the independant delelopment studios. Short term PS5 users will miss out on some big titles and microsoft hopes that they can build enough populatity that Sony will not be able to deny gamepass for their platform anymore. I wouldn't want this to be true it could harbour ill will from the communities. Or Good guys Microsoft continue to release bethesda games on playstion xbox and gamepass going forward. Drawing in all the value and good will from the popularity of the zenimax line up to Profit from playstation and increase the appeal of gamepass and possibley justify a price increase. Gamepass has been going from strength to strength before this it was a great deal now it's a no brainer if you don't own Wolfentein from Machinegames, Doom from ID, Elder scrolls and Fallout from Bethesda or the upto 13 titles from zenimax then get game pass for pc and try these great titles before the inevitable price increase comes when they meet their user targets for 2022 when you've had time to forget about the new acquisition.
