19.01.2022 REST Important announcement for our ticket holders Due to the events of the past week and the restrictions currently in place, WA Youth Theatre Company has decided to cancel our showings of REST until restrictions are lifted on Sunday 14 February. This means we will be resuming the REST Fringe World season on Monday 15 February, providing the restrictions currently in place are lifted.... We would like to thank you our ticket holders for all of your support and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our audiences. All tickets will be automatically refunded. We would also like to thank Fringe World for their enormous efforts over the past week to support artists and companies during this time, and to everyone in WA for doing their bit to keep our community safe. She lectures across departments a WAAPA as a sessional lecturer in Dance, Acting and MT Departments, Performance making and Classical Voice at WAAPA, while managing her studio The Chapel Space. LAURA BOYNES (right) is an award winning independent dance artist based in Perth, working nationally and internationally as a performer, choreograph...er, teacher and movement director. As a dancer Laura has performed in dance, theatre, experimental music, site-specific and opera works since graduating from LINK Dance Company (2007). From 2009-2013 Laura performed for Buzz Dance Theatre. To date Lauras work explores social, political and environmental concepts for theatre, gallery and site-specific spaces. She has choreographed multiple short and full-length works and co-directed large commissions for dance companies such as LINK Dance Company, CO;3 Youth Ensemble, Buzz Dance Theatre and the WA Academy of Performing Arts. She is most recently known for her work on more than 40 episodes of the 72 Dangerous series on Netflix and the childrens Drama Thalu for ABC, SBS, NITV and the Australian Childrens Television Foundation. Her career has spanned diverse genres including news, motorsport, short films, documentaries,... cooking programs, childrens drama, true crime, commercials, comedy, theatre, millennial finance and many more. She has produced programming for every commercial television station in Australia, as well as Netflix, Discovery, Nat Geo and the MTG group. She is an Adobe Certified Expert and an Adobe Master Trainer, teaching at universities, corporations, government departments and the broadcasters 9 and ABC in Perth. JAMES BERLYN (right) is a performing artist of more than thirty years-experience. He is the instigator and co-founder of Proximity Festival, Australias first festival of one-on-one performance. He was a co-founding director of Tracksuit, WAs adult disability performance group. James has been a guest lecturer at WAAPA in movement and devised performance since 1990.
