21.01.2022 Bit of milestone today for LMD Design & Drafting, its 7 years ago today I got my license and officially started the business, now all that time on I have a great team of staff and consultants. Initially starting as a sole trader in my home study, I soon had a staff member and moved into a shared office in Clifton Hill, but outgrowing that in 12 months I found an office in South Morang where I just ticked over in that space 5 years. Even though this has served me well, a new... office was on the horizon, which I now officially signed on for in Heidelberg, to move into that space as our new head office from Jan 6. I will be keeping a studio desk at South Morang to keep facilitating existing clients and future customers in the Northern Melbourne Area, as Ive met a lot of good people and want to keep networking in the region to keep the business strong. Theres no doubt the first 12 months is daunting, yet exciting, and through 3 years I found my feet, and stuck to a moto I read aim for 5 and stay alive. And then it just seemed to take off from there with all the relationships formed over the years. It definitely has had its ups and downs, and theres no harder job, yet a fulfilling job than to run your own business and employ staff. Especially in my line of business where you create peoples dreams by designing their family home, where they live and create memories. And at nearly 500 projects done by LMD to date, I have been trying to work on the business and not in the business in the last 12-18 months. So I hope, yet know if I keep working smarter & harder that ill keep building it bigger & better, as I am passionate at what I do, and love what I do, because it doesnt matter what you do in life, if you dont love it youll never be good at it or strive to get better! As an aside, a special mention to my family whos helped me to get here. That backing is never waivering and I appreciate it a lot. And to my wife and kids, without them and their support, a business is impossible to start, run and continue, so I owe a lot to you, but I hope I repay it with all our hard work together and enjoy the good times for it.
