25.01.2022 COACHES and parents ... Here are some house keeping rules for the Junior sandgroper series . Firstly , well before your registrations are due, *workout which juniors in your club are paddling on the particular day. * make sure they are financial members of AOCRA and your club ( they are not permitted to paddle if they are not ) * check the race package there will be a due date for club registrations and a final and due date for your team list . * got your kids sorted , fir...stly register your club to race on the AOCRA site ( registrars job) * next step, register the individual junior paddlers in the teams registration and remember if they aren’t financial they will not be able to be registered as they wont appear in the list with a check box ( again registrars job) *** now it’s really helpful to sort your future champions into age groups on each team registration . ie one for 12 u . One for 14 u ect ( if there’s only a few just . one team reg is fine . Mark your Steerers in the notes. **** so what happens now ? The host club will Place your adorable future presidents and world title holders into TEAMS !! *****why do we do it this way , firstly we can avoid stacking teams ( I know we have all done it ) but we want to keep this competition as fair and fun as we can . Please note that organisers will keep club teams together as much as numbers will allow . Juniors will be allowed to paddle up as per Aocra rules. So some juniors will be in other age group teams. ( strictly no paddling down ) Phew. Ok that’s done , and remember strictly no late entries as seats are filled . Do not turn up on the day expecting a seat. ****** Team lists will be sent out to clubs before race day . ******The list will be on a board and copies given to coaches and marshals . ********Just like gubbi gubbi, nats ect we will call team names, they will marshal in a wait area until it’s time to race. So coaches keep your kids near , they cannot wander off . ********* The Sandgroper series is designed to utilise the craft we have so it is predominantly oc6 , we have sprints , match racing, straights and turns . With a few distance races thrown in . We even have an adventure race too !! I will send this information out to coaches and Club JDs . Remember keep it simple , keep it fun and be inclusive JD Connie Hughes See more

This means we will not be paddling on our training area until further notice. We have no authority to enforce this on anyone else but ask people to take this into consideration. 03.01.2022 The saltwater stings your face skin to hard rain hitting the dry earth. Your breath rhythmic, calming the soul as you settle into a state of synchronicity. Sur...rendering to the elements that surround, with every stroke you persevere, digging deeper inside as every cell in your body screams for precious oxygen. How fast you go is determined by the energy that flows, one crew, at one with each other, the elements and the deep vast blue. Riding the ocean swells, each blade exits and enters the water in sync, you search for a run, that converted sweet spot, where effort becomes effortless. That moment when your at one with the sea and spirit. A sixth sense for moving oceans.
