22.01.2022 Earlier this week the Steak Sandwich Mens get together was another great night for a group of men of all ages getting together to enjoy good food, company and conversation. The next get together is on Tuesday the 25th of February 6pm at the Raffles Hotel Applecross (canning bridge). Why not bring a mate and support this fabulous mens mental health initiative/movement.

13.01.2022 Residents Kevin and Sue took delivery of their brand new Winnebago yesterday. It is beautiful and so spacious. They are planning a short trip inland to support local businesses and chase the warmer weather. When the borders open they hope to travel to Melbourne to visit family.

12.01.2022 Kevin from The Worm Shed visited Willow Brook today to set up our Worm Farms around the Village. Some eager Residents came to have a look and learn how to care for the worms. Special thanks to Justin, Christine, Ian and Henk for their interest. The worm farm fridges were decorated by students from the Swan Valley Anglican Community School and provide colour in and around the Village.

09.01.2022 It has long been claimed that ANZAC biscuits were sent by wives and womens groups to soldiers abroad due to the ingredients not spoiling easily and they kept well during transportation. It is also said that ANZAC biscuits were enjoyed by Australians and Kiwis at home in order to raise much-needed funds for the war. We hope you enjoy the biscuits which were delivered earlier today. For the early birds keen to participate in the ANZAC Day Memorial Service, Residents of the Village will be gathering at the end of their driveways at 6am with candles as a show of respect and to reflect.

05.01.2022 Tonight Willow Brook hosted another Steak Sandwich Men’s Get Together. Thirty-six like-minded men came together to enjoy a steak sandwich, share a beer, good conversation and fellowship.

04.01.2022 Residents and friends of Willow Brook enjoyed an escape to Vineyard 28 for a food and wine experience. Hosts and owners, Pippa and Mark Cumbers, treated them to a tour of the vineyard, learning about the varietals they offer and Mark shared interesting facts about the vines, leaves and soil. Later they moved to the Winery and Mark shared the winemaking process and then it was time to sample the wine, which was perfectly matched with local fare, cheeses and antipasto and sweet treats to accompany the dessert wines. Along with my wife, we have raised three children who have taken their place in life and they make us proud. They are contributing to everything that is good and productive in the world. They now have children of their own who bring us much joy and happiness, as we watch them find their way in this world with support from their parents. What does Fathers Day mean to you?

04.01.2022 With Fathers Day just 5 sleeps away, Resident Marco took a wonderful trip down memory lane in search of a photo very dear to him. Marco reflects "I love being a dad because, sometimes, my son still needs me; even if its just to haul his 4x4 out of the sand". They share a close bond. What does Fathers Day mean to you?

03.01.2022 The Village looks so beautiful as the Autumn leaves colour the entry, roses blooming and the plants, trees, mulch and lawn around the new homes are providing such contrast. We are enjoying a lot of enquiry and positive feedback and have 4 homes sold already. With restrictions easing, outdoor bowls have hit the ground running, mahjong and card nights are getting residents connecting in small groups once again. Many Residents are enjoying their morning and afternoon walks. Ian and Ron have taken to carpentry projects, Maureen has taken on a new hobby fermenting kombucha, whilst Lillian has finally left to hike along the Bibbulmun Track, a lazy 1000km and she is every bit ready for the challenge, we wish her all the best.

01.01.2022 Willow Brook lifestyle Village played host to the ladies, and a few gentlemen, of Inner Wheel. It was their annual fundraiser and they chose to put on a High Tea, the theme was Hats and Pearls. The champagne flowed and the home-made offerings consisted of a wonderful assortment of petit fours, cucumber sandwiches, sausage rolls and quiches.
