25.01.2022 Year 7 Humanities have been studying waterborne disease, focusing on causes, symptoms and treatments. Rehydration is vital to replace fluid lost through deadly diarrhea and vomiting; here the students are excited to try our own version of oral rehydration solution - a litre of water, 6 teaspoons sugar and .5 teaspoon salt.

24.01.2022 Today Clontarf and Kalay Academy students planted some traditional ‘Bush Tucker’ plants around our Yarning Circle. We are hoping our Yarning Circle will become a culturally appropriate outdoor learning space for all teachers to introduce Aboriginal Perspectives into the curriculum.

24.01.2022 Today we say félicitations to Ellen Holdway and Thomas Hughes who are finalists in the Alliance Française Berthe Mouchette Oral Exam Competition. They both received perfect scores and will be competing in the finals this weekend. ‘Merde’ (break a leg) to them both!

Both students started at Warrnambool College with our current year 12 cohort before transferring to their respective boarding schools. We are hoping the Yarning Circle will become a culturally appropriate outdoor learning space for teachers to incorporate Aboriginal perspectives into the curriculum in all key learning areas.

05.01.2022 Up and coming musicians, Zoe Borthwick Yr 8, from Warrnambool College and Brauer College student, Jobie Frankel Yr9 are performing in the Grand Final of Get Me A Gig, run by Hamilton Performing Arts Centre. Zoe and Jobie formed a duet earlier this year and were able to perform together at the Warrnambool Night markets before COVID. Entering this competition has been a great opportunity to hone their performing skills and share their talents. 04.01.2022 Our Year 11 VCAL teams are participating in a homeless sleepover that they have organised to raise money and awareness of homelessness. The class will be donating all money raised to the local organisation Brophy Family and Youth Services in Warrnambool. Brophy are dedicated to reducing the number of people who are homeless and sleeping rough. We are raising money through a GoFundMe page, raffle, and lunchtime activities. To donate to the GoFundMe page visit the link below. The raffle and lunchtime activities will be held on the 6th of November in the undercover area during first break.

03.01.2022 A challenge was set for Daffodil Day in cooking classes last Friday with some wonderfully creative results. Students were asked to create something that reflected the Daffodil Day theme and/or a decade for the Childers Dress up day. Well done to all students for supporting Childers efforts and raising awareness for cancer research.
