22.01.2022 Please share - Important announcement in regards to Central Highlands Bushfire Appeal When I set out to raise funds through the multi raffle draw I only ever di...d it with the intention that the money raised would go to those who needed it. I originally thought Red Cross would be a good organisation as its Australia wide. I also felt once Id made that decision early on I couldnt go back on it! But the more information released I just didnt feel right about donating to them. After speaking with some locals and local organisations on where the money would be better distributed Ive decided to change the organisations to the four following amazing organisations out there making a difference right now! Burrumbuttock Hay Runners BlazeAid Lions Australia WIRES I am already in discussions with our local Lions president to liaise with lions clubs in the affected area. Burrumbuttock are not only supporting farmers who lost their feed but are helping those affected by drought throughout different states. BlazeAid are all volunteers helping rebuild fences on affected properties and supporting families through the rebuild. Wires is treating affected wildlife throughout the affected areas not only in NSW but the rest of Australia. The raffle took off in a way I didnt expect and I made a decision quickly but now feel that a change is for the best! Again thank you to all the businesses that donated and those who have helped out so far! If you didnt buy tickets because of the Red Cross being part of the proceeds please do get some tickets before the raffles drawn so we can make the biggest impact possible! We live in an amazing community and I know we can band together to make a difference! Plus the prizes are bloody amazing! The draw will still be help at the botanic gardens (Capricorn hwy under the bridge) on 8th Feb (This sat) at 8.30 am with sausage sizzle and activities for the kids. 18.01.2022 OLD BOYS GAME AUGUST 3RD McIndoe Park Rugby League Facility Emerald vs Emerald Brothers(formerly cowboys and seagulls). 4pm(tbc) We are seeking interest for pla...yers and coaching staff for an over 35s game vs the Emerald Brothers RLC. This will include old boys from the Seagulls and Cowboys sides. The aim of the game is to reunite old foes and become mates after with a few bevvies. Game will be 4 x 15 min quarters. We are also looking to sponsors to support this fantastic game. Depending on sponsorship we will aim for jerseys(retro jerseys) and will supply full kit if we get enough sponsorship. We are looking to fully insure the game aswell. We hope to grab a celebrity ref or a referee from back in the day if anyone has any suggestions. At this stage it is only in the planning stages and needs support if its to go ahead. *over 35s will be preferred but if we are short we may take a few lads just under 35.
